We're delighted to be hosting The Balsam Centre and @openmentalhlth for a 5 Ways to Wellbeing course, starting this Friday at 1.30pm.

This is a wonderful free course for those hoping to improve their mental wellbeing, confidence and life choices.

A twelve week course every Friday, starting 23 October, 1.30pm to 3pm. Chard Community Hub, Boden Street, TA20 2AX. An empowering course covering the 5 Ways to Wellbeing in a friendly and inclusive environment. Sessions will include a mix of practical, creative and workroom based activities and will help participants to:
Meet, socialise and make friends in a safe, secure environment.
Gain a greater understanding of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
Identify their unique skills and learn some new ones.
Gain a greater understanding of peer support, work as part of a team and make positive life choices.
Set their own goals and look to the future with greater confidence, motivation and hope.

Looking for somewhere cool to escape the heat tomorrow?

With temperatures soaring and lots of schools closing, we’re opening our doors for a relaxed Brighter Days Craft Morning at Make the Sunshine Studio.

Come and enjoy:
🧊 A cool indoor space
🧃 Free cold drinks and refreshments
🎨 Simple, mindful craft activities
💛 Friendly faces and good company

Adults and families are all welcome.

So come and slow down, reduce stress, improve wellbeing and take a little time for yourself. Our sessions are designed to be welcoming, low-pressure and accessible, with plenty of opportunities to chat, have fun and make and connect with your community!

No experience needed and no pressure to stay for the whole session. Just pop in, cool down, get creative and enjoy a slower morning.

The Mental Health Foundation’s landmark 15 year study explicitly links the UK's mental health crisis to growing financial inequality.

When 54% of financially struggling adults are in severe distress compared to just 17% of those who are comfortable, it's clear: you cannot "resilience" your way out of poverty. This is a structural failure, not a medical one.

💛 What a day 💛

Thank you @kitty.stewart.music - our hearts are full!

Shared singing, beautiful music, delicious cake, gorgeous bunting - wonderful company. And we so enjoyed the journey your music took us on this morning.

We know a morning like this doesn’t solve all life’s problems. And that so many people in our community are facing so many of life’s big challenges at the moment... But what it does do is put some warmth in your soul. Bring us together. And allows some time to just be in the moment with others. To enjoy making together. And to realise the importance of good friends and company.. And sometimes that small pocket of sunshine can be just the thing to carry you through that day or that week.

There was so much laughter, support, care and wonderful open hearted conversations and singing this morning. And it was especially lovely to see some people who we’ve dearly missed and haven’t seen for a while 🧡

We sang our favourite places and it was no surprise that Shepton Mallet and @glastofest earned their places right next to Las Vegas and Naples!

If you fancy some new conversations, a friendly welcome or a change of routine do come along to some of our upcoming events - we’d love to see you

Open to all - whether you’re a current or former carer, work in health or social care or you want to come together as a community to celebrate a more carer-friendly community, we’d love you to join us. 🌺

Just not enough words to say how FABULOUS this group of women are!

Sharing laughter, sharing tears. There were so many poignant moments today as amazing Florin wow’ed us with his absolutely breathtaking piano performance and repertoire. 🎵

Memories of loved ones and special times mixed with lots of laughter and new friendships formed.

Such a wonderful open hearted community THANK YOU @openmentalhlth for supporting these sessions and our AMAZING volunteers who make it possible. And to wonderful Paul Street Community Centre.

So nice to welcome so many new members recently 💕

TDAH!, our support group for women with (or wondering about) ADHD, is meeting this evening at 7pm.

It’s a relaxed, confidential space to chat, share experiences and swap real-life tips with other women who know what it’s like.

We meet on the second Tuesday of every month, over a light supper for anyone who wants to eat with us.

You can just turn up without booking but feel free to call us on 01963 31842 if you have any questions.
