Happy National Esthetician Day 🤍

Almost 9 years ago, I stepped into an industry not knowing just how much it would change my life.

Looking back at these photos makes me so emotional because I see so much more than just a career. I see the girl who was just starting out, the people who believed in her, the friendships made along the way, the countless hours spent learning, and all the little moments that led me to where I am today.

This journey has been filled with so many beautiful reminders of why I fell in love with this profession in the first place.
What started as a love for skincare has grown into something so much deeper. I’ve learned that the most meaningful part of what I do has nothing to do with someone’s skin. It’s the conversations, the trust, the relationships, and the privilege of being a small part of someone’s journey.

And now, getting to look back on all these years while standing in a space of my very own is something I don’t think I’ll ever take for granted.
God has been so faithful through every season of this journey, even the ones I didn’t understand at the time. I’m so thankful for every person, every opportunity, and every experience that has shaped the esthetician I am today.

To everyone who has ever trusted me with their skin, supported me, taught me something, or simply believed in me, thank you. You have been part of a journey that means more to me than you’ll ever know.

Here’s to continuing to learn, grow, and serve others with the same love that brought me here in the first place. 🤍

Happy National Esthetician Day 🥹🤍

This industry has changed so much for me over the years, from working hands on with clients, to becoming completely obsessed with acne, clearing clients virtually worldwide, building my own skincare line, educating other estheticians, and getting to make a career out of something I genuinely love.

But I think my favorite part will always be the people.

The clients who trusted me with their skin when they felt like they had tried everything. The estheticians I’ve met and become friends with along the way. And now getting to watch other estheticians use Mixi in their own treatment rooms with their own clients will probably never stop being surreal to me.

This industry has given me so much more than I ever expected when I first became licensed.

Very grateful for this little career of mine 🥹

Sharing because I’ve been telling a lot of new aestheticians this: find your community! If you’re an aesthetician needing some mentorship, helpful advice on certain subjects, or just encouragement, @optimizedaesthetics is an account you have to follow and a community you need to be apart of! There is something so special about being surrounded by aestheticians who genuinely want to see each other succeed, who share knowledge, encourage each other, celebrate the wins, answer the random questions, and remind you that someone really is paying attention. 😂

And Optimized Aesthetics is such a perfect example of that. Consistently showing up, supporting, encouraging, and making people in this industry feel seen.

This career can feel isolating at times, especially when so many of us work solo. But the community I’ve found within aesthetics and because of them has made it feel anything but lonely.

I’m just really grateful to be part of an industry filled with people who keep showing up for one another. 🖤
