The night didn’t end when the doors closed. It stayed with us. 🩵💚🧡

To everyone who came through, stayed late, and gave a little more than they had to: you’re the reason this space felt like home. The hugs, the hellos, the “one more song” moments — that was all you!

This is what happens when a room full of people decides to show up for each other. By showing up and caring, you are part of this work.✨

See you at the next one!

Special shoutout to @59thshot for the amazing video🤍

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate 10 years of Initiate Justice with us! 🎉

From the art created inside, the music and performances by @bb.shaine @acemimv and @gritgrind_glory, to the community timeline, local vendors like @oraenergy, @bluestacos, @prettydrippyballoons_, and @comptonvegan, the @songsfromthehole exhibit, and all the smiling faces, Saturday was a true reflection of the power and joy that carry this movement forward ✊🏼

We’re especially grateful to have been joined virtually by our inside organizers at Pleasant Valley State Prison. Having them join us was a powerful reminder of why this fight continues and why we must keep organizing, building, and imagining a future free of prisons.

Here’s to the people who have carried this movement forward, the communities who continue to show up, and the work still ahead ❤️‍🩹

We connected. We vibed. We gave. 🩵💚🧡

To every single person who walked through those doors: you showed up, you showed out, and you brought the energy that made this night what it was. The laughter, the conversations, the moments — that was all you!

This is what it looks like when community shows up. ✨

Today’s Fall of Freedom event will feature some familiar faces! artEquity Founder and Executive Director, Carmen Morgan, will join Founder and Executive Director of Support Black Theatre, Sophina Brown, The AntiRacist Theatre Author, Nicole Brewer, WACO Theater Center, and The Last Acting Studio for a FREE three-part event in Leimert Park.

Join us TODAY, Saturday, October 3, 2026, for a tour of the newly renovated Vision Theatre, honoring the necessity of spaces that support thriving Black creativity, a conversation and Q&A exploring how we can practice theatre in ways that move us towards greater freedom and collective liberation, and gathering for food and fellowship to close out the evening.

This is a free event, but space is extremely limited. RSVP via the link in our bio to reserve your spot!
