Happy International Women’s Day 💛

This post is for the incredible women in my life.

The ones who’ve been there through the big moments… and the messy ones.
The friends who celebrate your wins, pick you up when life feels heavy, and laugh with you until your stomach hurts.

Strong women. Honest women. Supportive women.

Life is better when women lift each other up.

✨ Festive Soirée at Fig Tree Cabin ✨
This Saturday was pure magic! I hosted a cosy festive wine-tasting soirée at mine — a chance for local creatives, self-employed business owners and new faces in the community to come together, unwind and actually have a Christmas party for once! 💫

We had the most wonderful mix of talent in the room:
💍 Liz, who creates the most exquisite bespoke jewellery
🍷 Sian, newly qualified sommelier, who curated our wines and put together a delicious cheese-and-nibbles pairing
📸 Chelsey, content creator, lash technician (and the reason my lashes always look amazing!) who also organised our festive ticket bundles

The night was filled with singing, laughter, dancing, gorgeous food and beautiful wine — the perfect recipe for a winter get-together.

I also did a little makeup demo, sharing some of my favourite looks for the season, and gave everyone a tour of the newly finished Fig Tree Cabin. It was such a joy to showcase what I do, talk beauty, skincare and artistry, and celebrate the people who support and inspire me.

Nights like this remind me how much creativity is tucked away in our local area — and how special it is when we bring it all together.
Here’s to more community, more collaboration, and more sparkle this season. ✨🍾

Thankyou to @_this.and.yap for making this fabulous party happen and the beautiful content captured @serenity.massagetherapy for your incredible curated wine tasting @tidyparties for the beautiful balloon display 🫶🏻

A bridal course designed especially for you 🫶🏻💕

This year I have been teaching a variety of makeup courses. From 1/2 day refresher training to a full 5 days beauty and bridal courses for complete beginners.

If you are wishing to start a career in the wedding sector or simply add another string to your bow by adding makeup application to your repertoire then please get in touch.

I design bespoke courses tailored to suit your budget and time schedules.

Featured in this montage is @_graceaday_ who wanted to train as a MUA to work in the bridal industry but the course needed to fit around her current job.

We managed to fit a full 8 hour session in over 5 weeks which gave her plenty of practice sessions in between.

During the course we covered makeup for all ages, skin tones and types.
We worked with teenage skin, through to mature skin, freckles, blemishes, and pigmentation.

We used a variety of techniques from tinted moisturisers to airbrush makeup.

We covered the most natural of looks to full evening glamour, definition eye makeup for eye shapes, winged liner, lashes smokey eyes, contour and highlighting and of course the perfect red lip.

The final day was to shoot 4 bridal styles for Grace's portfolio.

Other essential's covered were:
*Lighting and filters
*Getting started in the industry.
*Building a portfolio.
*Networking, social media and websites.
*Pricing
*Building your kit - (the essentials)

On completion a certificate detailing the course and content was given and Grace is now ready to start her new business.

If you are interested in learning more please contact me via email or call me for a chat. *All contact details are up the top in my bio 🔝

NIFTY KNITS! Possibly my favourite of all the @thebasketroom baskets in the shop.

They are hand-woven by members of the Kamba tribe in Kenya using local sisal and yarns from second-hand woolly jumpers.

Each one is unique, so there’s only one of each in the world.

Originally woven by mothers as wedding gifts to their daughters, these African baskets – also known as kiondos - take extraordinary skill to produce, and up to six days to complete.

Traditional kiondo weaving is seeing a revival thanks to a surge in demand from the interior industry, and skilled elders continue to pass on this sustainable craft to their daughters and granddaughters.

There’s one left…

First time at Go Ape and I was really surprised at how brave the kids were. Climbing through the trees and doing the zip-lines. It was fun to do something with the kids rather than just watch them! 🌲💚🐒 #goape #moorsvalley #friends
