UNDERRATED D2 BASEBALL SCHOOLS PT. 5 👀⚾️🔥

These D2 schools deserve WAY more attention.

Mountain backdrops ⛰️, South Florida weather 🌴, upgraded facilities 🏟️, strong academics 🎓 and real opportunities to compete. Look deeper than the surface level of college ball.

Some recruits get way too caught up in division labels and big-name programs.

The better question is: where can YOU actually develop, play, enjoy the experience and set yourself up for life after baseball? 📈

There are legit hidden gems all over D2.

100% committed!

I first want to thank God because without Him none of this would be possible. Thank you to all the coaches and teammates who have made this journey possible. Most of all, thank you to my parents for being my biggest supporters every step of the way. Go Orediggers!

Joe Steidel solidified his legacy with the Green Valley Gators as an elite, starting pitcher. His strong Junior season cemented his status as the #2 left-handed pitcher in the state of Nevada according to Perfect Game for the Class of 2024. A standout highlight of his career came in March 2024 when he earned Nevada Preps Boys Athlete of the Week honors after flirting with a no-hitter in a dominant nine-strikeout, one-hit performance against Silverado. Driven by a fastball-curveball mix that kept hitters completely off-balance, Steidel ranked among the division’s top leaders in single-season strikeouts with a stellar .190 batting average against. His pitching depth was critical in driving the Gators to a #4 overall state ranking, capping off a decorated high school career that seamlessly paved his path to NCAA Division II baseball. #southpaw #greenvalley #baseball
How does the intensity of college baseball compare to high school?
College baseball is a different beast then high school, the game moves faster and you either keep up or get left behind.
What has been the biggest challenge and how did you overcome it? (College Baseball or College Life)
My biggest challenge in College is managing the baseball workload with the workload of engineering classes. Without good time management keeping up with the two would be impossible.
Describe baseball and what it means to you.
Baseball is just a game!

CO Mines’ Will Niles got the start for the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in today’s (8/2/26) Northwoods League game against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, and he didn’t disappoint.

Niles picked up the win pitching 6 full innings, during which he allowed only 3 runs on 8 hits, issued just 2 walks, and struck out 8!!

Today was Niles’ 2nd consecutive outing with 8 strike outs, as he accomplished that feat in a relief appearance on 7/28/26 against the Wausau Woodchucks when he allowed just 1 run on 5 hits over 5 innings of work.

Niles is finishing up an impressive summer in the Northwoods League, with a record of 4-1.
