Comparison is easy in homeschool spaces. There’s always someone’s co-op that sounds better, a curriculum that looks more intentional, a rhythm that seems more sustainable than yours.

Amy Erickson said something on the podcast that I keep thinking about.

Gaining perspective from other families — watching what works for them, asking questions — that part is genuinely useful. The problem is when perspective turns into emulation, when you start building your homeschool around someone else’s values and rhythm.

Claiming ownership of what works for your family takes time. But it’s the whole point.

Find what works for you and fight the noise that makes you question it.

A few weeks ago while we were in Florida, I had the pleasure of spending the evening with the Erickson crew on one of the beautiful beaches along 30A. ☀️ It was the most gorgeous night, and honestly... I'm ready to go back already! 😅

Meet Amy ✨

Amy joined 30A Power Yoga in November after spotting an ad for one of our live DJ classes and instead of signing up for just one class, she committed to a full month. From her very first class, she was hooked.

With a strong fitness background and years of teaching classes herself, Amy knew what it felt like to move her body consistently, but before finding 30A Power Yoga, she struggled to find a workout she genuinely enjoyed enough to stick with. That all changed here.

“Power Yoga made it easy because I loved the workout and the music,” she says.

Encouraged to come as often as possible during her first month, Amy quickly made classes part of her daily routine and never looked back. Since joining, she’s lost 15 pounds, become stronger and more flexible than ever, and says the combination of movement and infrared heat has completely transformed the way she feels physically and mentally.

“I have never experienced a workout that makes me feel so good. It’s the perfect blend of strength and stretching.”

Beyond the physical changes, Amy says the studio has had an incredible impact on her overall well-being and self-care. Today, she’s not only a dedicated student, she also subs classes at the studio and continues to be an encouraging presence within the 30A Power Yoga community.

“Forever grateful” is how she describes her experience here and we’re just as grateful to have her as part of our yoga family. 💛

Grab a book and disappear for a while.

At Little Rabbit Retreat, it’s just you, the quiet woods, and the soft crackle of the fire.

No rush. Nowhere to be. Just one more chapter.

“Where I hope your email finds me.”

Not in my inbox.
Not in another meeting.

Right here.

Around a crackling fire.
Kids laughing.
Stars overhead.
Nowhere to be tomorrow.

This is the kind of “out of office” that actually matters.

📍Cuyuna Cabin Collection
Just two hours from the Twin Cities.
