Yesterday marked my official 10 YEARS with @volvoxlabs. It truly feels like a milestone I could have never imagined.

At VVOX we take a lot of pride in sharing moments in our work. I wanted to use this post to share moments and memories captured by and of the team at VVOX. In ten years the team has created things beyond my wildest dreams. But what also stands out through all the amazing projects is the little brilliant familial moments that happened in our process. To say these people are family would only begin to describe how I feel about them. I am truly lucky to have found a place where not only are my ideas and creativity accepted and encouraged but also my personality.

During a celebratory lunch yesterday there were many stories told that I would not have if it was not for these amazing people. Stories that we will laugh about forever.

In celebrating my decade with this company I not only celebrating my achievement but I also celebrate Volvox, our culture, our passion, and our family.

At the end of last month, I had the opportunity to discuss on a commissioned digital art project we created for the newly built city hall of the City of Mesa, AZ.
This project, developed by the content team at @volvoxlabs and myself, came to life at the end of last year.

On a personal note, this was a truly special milestone for me. To be part of creating a permanent public art piece that reflects our team’s collective inspiration from nature—while also incorporating my own personal experiences of the unique environment I encountered in previous Mesa trip before the commission art period.

Once in a while our team gets to truly ‘play’. The results often use the tools and techniques we learn on commercial projects combined with some VVOX magic - we create work like Astral Twin.

Excited to present our programme for Digital Design Weekend, returning on 20-22 Sept at the V&A to celebrate contemporary digital art and design.

Projects include:
- ‘Painting with Plotters’ by @blahblahpaperblah a participatory generative art experience featuring drawing machines
- ‘Memories with Connor’, by neurodiverse artist @connor_turansky, opens a conversation about memory loss, inviting audiences to create fake memories through an interactive photo booth

- ‘A Butterfly and a Horse’, a darkroom installation by artist Clare Strand examines our relationships with analogue and AI image-making. This is the result of a commission by Sotheby’s Institute of Art led by Reimagining the Monument team @a_butterfly_and_a_horse, @sothebysinstitute @strandclare @hannah_redlerhawes

- ‘Functionless’, an interactive 3D-generation tool by @andres.al.azar @orietur42 @sva_mfaca

- Machine Learning assisted, semi-automated instruments by @craig_scotts_lobotomy

- ‘Memories in Motion’ by The SIM Project @lizhingley1, features sculptures with hundreds of unique SIM-scale glass prints of screenshots, made and worn by people with experience of displacement
- ‘Multiverse’ by @humanhood_ a virtual reality journey with haptic vests and synchronised breathing

Volvox Labs was commissioned to create a unique digital artwork for the newly built city hall in Mesa, AZ. We looked into surrounding landscapes as a source for a series of generative simulations evoking sense of evolution and passing of swaths of time. We wanted to bring the color and signature geological formations from the area into the building yet adding our twist of surrealism. Work is on view permanently at the Mesa City Hall.
