Livermush Festival demonstration 2026. This is by far the most challenging demo we do every year. We are not able to create this level of distraction in training. Quite honestly, it’s a logistical nightmare. However, we’re always up for the challenge. The festival was a huge hit with record numbers. Perfect fall weather and the teams knocked it out of the park. Special thanks to Riley Wood for donning the bitesuit and safely catching the dogs.

🎙️ ATK9 Mini Series | A-Rod – ORO K9 Services & Workwear

In this episode of our ATK9 Mini Series, Sean sits down with A-Rod of ORO K9 Services & Workwear @orok9_services @oro_k9workwear , one of the proud sponsors of Working Dogs & Whiskey!

A-Rod was on the field at ATK9 instructing a Shoot and Move course, working with K9 teams on integrating firearms, movement, and handler coordination while preparing dogs for gunfire inoculation.

Building a reliable working dog goes beyond obedience and apprehension. It’s about preparing both ends of the leash to operate confidently and effectively in high-stress environments.

A huge thank you to A-Rod and ORO K9 Services & Workwear for supporting the podcast, investing in the working dog community, and continuing to push the standard of training forward.

Stay tuned for more conversations and behind-the-scenes footage from ATK9!

I come back to this thought atleast every other week, sometimes more often. Being in the equipment realm, a maker, keeping my head space there, there's no question that you must stay centered in the work and visit your 'why' as much as possible. This is because the work brings about the process which creates the vision. The vision of risk mitigation, force multipliers, and what truly keeps the dog relevant in this day and age. Without the work, you cannot create.

👣🐾⚡️Proximity is Not Integration - Exposure is Not Inoculation ⚡️👣🐾

Our approach emphasizes progressive skill development, clear performance standards, and the systematic integration of canine teams into operational environments.

We don’t simply expose teams to stressors. We develop the skills, confidence, and reliability necessary to perform in a pressurized environment.

Here’s your Week 40 recap!

A special shoutout and thank you to @atk9usa for putting on an absolutely insane event this week! Top-tier, world-class training, incredible K9 teams, and an awesome community of folks doing some incredible work. We had a blast finally meeting so many of y’all in person, catching up with familiar faces, and meeting plenty of new folks along the way. Until next time, ATK9! 🫡

ATK9 AAR. To all of our friends, colleagues, and partners that lended a hand and helped make this event successful for ESSE K9, thank you IMMENSELY. There's a reason we are called ESSE K9 COLLECTIVE. This is truly a collective of professionals that simply want to better and strengthen the K9 community as a whole, and lift eachother up wherever possible. To all of our end users and handlers that support us and trust our kit to perform every single day, we thank you because you are what make ESSE K9 successful and push us to innovate and create solutions that fill the gaps.

To our new friends and colleagues, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to connect with us and share your passion and your why. We love seeing so many business owners and makers strive to make the K9 community safer and stronger with their efforts and equipment. We cannot wait to see you all again!!!!

Thank you, ATK9.

Attending as a vendor and classroom attendees allows us to dial in and learn even more about what you do, and how we can help you.

At Muscatatuck Training Center we got to sit next to handlers who do this for a living and see how the work really gets done.

Our biggest win was the conversations.
Board members, attendees, vet med experts, and handlers of active working K9s and wounded K9s all took time to tell us what their dogs need.
A lot of them want to help us find solutions through our ongoing research. That’s fuel to our fire heading into 2027.

Thank you both for the work you do, and for being a real one.

A BIG thank you to @essek9collective
You partnered with us at the end of 2025 and encouraged us to be at this event.
You believe in what we do, in the results our products are getting, and in the bigger goals behind our mission.
That means a lot to us. WAY more coming.

And to @atk9usa : The organization, the communication, and the care you put into making this event a success showed all week. Thank you for having us, and for the great conversations.

To everyone we talked with between the vendor booth and the class sessions: we can’t wait to work more with you.

Onward.

The Beartooth MK II system is trusted by professionals for a reason. Fully waterproof with integrated on-board GPS system, AES-256 encryption, PTT capabilities, 2+ day battery, and an incredibly easy setup via the Beartooth ATAK Plugin. Paired with the ESSE K9 vest mount, we make it easy to place your K9 within a TAK ecosystem.
