Last night I had the chance to play at Club RAUM during the Orphic pre-party.
A special moment for me: sharing my music with the community and stepping behind the decks in club RAUM for the first time.

Grateful for the opportunity and the support from Orphic and everyone who was there. This is only the beginning.

A personal message and looking back on last year:

As we come closer to the end of the year, organisations often send out a message of thanks to their community, usually on behalf of the organisation as a whole. But this year, I(Fred) wanted to make it a bit more personal.

Before I thank you, our community, I want to shine a light on the entire team. ORPHIC operates as a non-profit, powered entirely by the passion and dedication of people committed to strengthening our local scene. Each team member is fully invested in this project, and we hope it inspires other organisations and young promoters while helping us all, as a united community, to thrive together. We aim to lead by example, just as we were inspired by other organisations, some of which continue to inspire us to this day.

This past year, we’ve made great progress as a team: from implementing an art program and establishing clear social guidelines to tackling administrative work. Everyone has contributed in their own unique way

To everyone who has been part of ORPHIC in some way over the past year, from artists and professionals to visitors, on behalf of the entire team: thank you. Your support never goes unnoticed, and it gives us the strength and motivation to keep going. It would be too much to name each of you individually, but we hope you feel the love and appreciation we have for you.

Then all that remains for me to do is to wish you success in the coming days towards the new year. Take good care of yourselves and keep an eye on each other.

A Love Letter to Orphic

It was a warm Sunday in the spring of 2019. Jerry and I were on our way to Amsterdam to support our friend Fred for the first edition of Orphic. I didn’t expect much as I had never been to an illegal rave before, but stepping onto that island, I was instantly captivated. More than 500 people were caught up in the music, in each other, and in the moment. It was pure openness and community, a feeling I hadn’t experienced before. That was the day my love for Orphic was born, and it has only grown stronger ever since.

Now five years into their journey, with only a handful of missed events, I can confidently say that I’m beyond proud of the entire Orphic crew for pouring their hearts into building this incredible community. They’ve guided Orphic through tough times, embraced a generational shift on the dance floor and became a bridge between the past and the future of our scene. With such a rich past and their expanding artistic vision, I’m confident that Orphic’s future has never been brighter.

Next Saturday, I’m honored to step behind the decks for Orphic’s first ambient journey as one of the hosts of @zero__bpm. It’s set to be a truly unique experience, so I hope to see you there as we turn inward, celebrating the unforgettable memories Orphic has given us, and welcoming the ones yet to come.

Yunhee took on an experimental set that was different from her usual style. It featured dark ambient sounds and new experimental beats that she hadn’t showcased before. Despite this, she maintained her dark atmosphere.
