bunii’s been on an absolutely crazy run with all of these music video drops lately, and his newest may be his best

the latest visuals that he dropped are for his song “amnesia.” with over a million streams on spotify alone, this is one of his most well performing songs from his latest album release, “virgilio”

the concept for this track was one of my favorites. bunii sings about the concept of forgetting everything except for the feeling of a partner. you can see he interprets the lyrics literally with this hospital setting

the music video starts off with a friend of bunii’s trying to shake him awake which then transitions into our main setting in the hospital. what’s so interesting to me is whether or not the hospital setting is taking place in a dream. he’s sleeping at the beginning of the video, but it’s also implied that bunii’s friend gets into a car crash which could lead them into a hospital. makes you think

this is one of my favorite videos from him due to the amount of out-of-the-box visuals. it almost feels like you’re in a euphoric wonderland type fever dream when you’re watching it. it’s super sick to see a song you really appreciate brought to life visually

if you’re a big fan of bunii then i highly recommend you watch this latest video. what do y’all think? how does this compare to his other videos? which song do you want to have a music video next? lmk below<3

one of the most emotionally impactful music videos of the year so far shoutout to bunii 💛

we’ve covered bunii and his latest album “virgillio” a couple of times before now. he just released the music video for one of the standout tracks “joey” that i’ve had in rotation since the project dropped. it’s already struck a pretty emotional chord

the track is sung from the perspective of bunii’s little sister. bunii has a really mature and brutally honest critique of himself as an older brother and role model to his younger sibling. looking at elements of his absence and struggles with his family, he’s able to communicate as his little sister in a way that not many artists are able to do without sugarcoating their faults. honestly something a lot of people can likely relate to in their own lives

bunii’s actual sister, joey, portrays herself in the video and she really does a pretty admirable job. some of the looks she gives the camera and the body language she has when she’s around her brother is just heartbreaking. you can tell that she just wants to be closer to her brother or even just talk to him, but bunii is too occupied with either his music or personal struggles to be that figure for her

this is one of the more powerful songs on his past albums and the music video provides a really good portrayal of the frustration and sadness that this song embodies. i love these visuals and i would love to see more music videos come out for the “virgillio” tracks.

what do y’all think? did you enjoy joey’s performance? did this video strike a chord for you? lmk below <3
