Teaching computer vision to understand musicians in live music footage.

Which sounds simple until the guitarist is side-on, backlit, half-covered by a cymbal, tiny in frame or being filmed from somewhere no sensible camera operator would stand.

I'm working on improving how Showgaze recognises who's actually in a shot across the messy reality of concert video.

The better it understands the footage, the better it can decide when that angle is actually useful.

My first cover of @osakapunchofficial's served with mustard. Also missing my ride cymbal.

Well, unfortunately my end of year review is even worse than last year’s. I’m still not fit for going to shows and taking photos, but I did manage to get out once and see my favourite band Osaka Punch as a punter. I can’t wait to get back at it, hopefully within the next 6 months. Enjoy life and look after yourself and loved ones, you never know what is around the corner.
*photo taken on my iPhone so excuse the quality.

Full disclaimer: I did this earlier and fit way more tshirts on but forgot to press record 🤦‍♀️
I also got stuck and my kids had to help me get them off. So I needed recovery time from that sensory nightmare before trying again hahah
