Supporting children during a parents cancer treatment & beyond
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
As most of you guys know- I’m currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. I have a 4 year old (Noah) and a 7month old (Finn). We wanted to do a post for support services, that help families/children and specifically women. This post may help you if you have a family member or friend undergoing treatment, if your a professional that wants to know more, or your looking for charities to support.

2- @osbornetrust14 is a fantastic charity aimed at helping children and parents undergoing cancer treatment. (16 and under) they offer emotional and practical support, Noah received a fantastic support pack from these included the famous ozzy the elephant. We were also gifted a voucher for a free day out to a local attraction - which is something for us to look forward too- around chemo. My BCN referred me.

3-little lifts @littlelifts_uk are a specific charity for women undergoing treatment for breast cancer (chemotherapy or radiotherapy). I applied myself online, and recieved a wonderful NHS approved package.

4- before chemo started I donated my hair to @officiallittleprincesstrust- who make wigs for children living with hair loss. Anyone having a big hair cut can donate- it’s such a good charity.

5-helpful books, mummy’s lumps is downloaded from @breastcancernow, I was gifted cancer hates kisses from my breast cancer nurse and is it still ok to have cuddles is by @elketalks and can be purchased. All great resources for little ones.

6- @prelovedrel0ved is ran) by the fantastic jo, who sends out packages for women undergoing cancer treatment, items such as head scarves, picc covers, mastectomy bras.

7-I was recommended to see Lyndsey @the_hair_i_wear , she is based in cramlington and is registered with the nhs. I bought my wig here (her own brand and design) . I was able to use my NHS voucher towards payment. She then referred me to the lovely Robbie @hair.robbie, who styled my wig to me individually. As you can see it’s beautiful. I really recommend both of these guys.

8-coping with cancer is another charity that provides free treatments to cancer patients- these include complementary treatments, and counselling.
