Anger is a Gift! Even God gets angry too. We all need anger. When we harness it properly, we can produce desired results. 😤💪🏾🖤⚔️

🚨Wistful caption incoming!!🚨

Last Friday we had the opening for our TAG exhibition “The Sequence is Yours” with the CAMH (open through May 25 at @artechouse for anyone who hasn’t seen it!) and it was such an amazing culminating experience. Seeing my students see their work on a wall outside of campus, hearing them say they feel famous, watching their parents take pictures, walking through both the TAG exhibition and the Artechouse exhibition with them and watching their wonder for visual art grow was the exact experience I was hoping to get from this Teacher Advisory Group experience. I have a stressful, yet productive trait of never feeling like I’m doing enough to maximize the impact of my and my students’ potentials, but the pride and newfound ambition my students and their parents have expressed to me over the last 5 days since the opening has proven that they’ve earnestly internalized their job well done and in turn, I have, too (last pic is one of my students with the Artechouse tote bag she bought at the exhibition that she now carries around every day). The community connection my students now have with the CAMH and Artechouse has broadened their understanding of museums and the accessibility of displaying their art (especially as youth) in a way that I could not have done alone in the classroom. As a by-product, I’ve also had the fortune of working alongside and befriending such wonderful and affirming people. There’s genuinely nothing comparable to being in a team full of people who value and practice something you love with the same enthusiasm that you do. I will miss this experience so very much (I knew I would from the beginning 😪😪). There is nothing that has excited me this way since I started teaching 🥲. I’m grateful to have been apart of something that I loved so much but sheeeeesh do I hate to see it end.

@felice_cleveland and Rickey, you two have put together something magical and made the world bigger for my students. Thank you for bringing so much meaning to our school year!!

Okay enough of my feelings!! Back to thugging it out for the rest of this school year. The sequence is yours!! 💫🎆✨🐢

Long before you gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Nyrie, you stepped up in the biggest way possible as a mother to our son, Nazareth. A missing piece in our family was filled by your unconditional love, patience, and unwavering commitment from the very beginning.

I truly couldn’t ask for a better mother to our children or a better wife to walk through life with. As I sit here writing this, I’m honestly getting emotional because I know your love is a reflection of God’s grace over our family. The way you nurture, protect, teach, and love us every single day never goes unnoticed.

It’s your devotion that continues to help our family grow stronger, closer, and more beautiful with each passing day. Watching you raise these two amazing kids fills my heart with so much joy and gratitude, because the fruits of our love are standing right in front of us.

Happy Mother’s Day to my beloved wife, Iva Abena ❤️

Becoming a mom has been the most transformative experience of my life. Motherhood showed me a level of exhaustion I never knew existed, and a depth of worry and anxiety I couldn’t have imagined… but even more than that, it introduced me to a love so pure, so full, and so unmatched.

I’m endlessly grateful to God for trusting me with this role and blessing me with my beautiful babies, Nazareth & Nyrie. Being your mom is my greatest honor.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the strong, loving, and dedicated mothers out there; today, we celebrate us.

✨Enjoy these moments from our backyard maternity shoot, captured just 4 days before Nyrie entered this world. ✨

Over the weekend we gathered and celebrated @oseigems @oseiallday and @latenitefeatures and the bundle of joy that is on her way. Friends and family under one roof with the focus on celebrating Baby Franklin. It was beautiful to see the love and support for these two. She has so much love (and many cousins) waiting for her already.

From middle school to now. 12 to our late 30s. Over 20 years! How is this possible? That went by so quickly!

I almost cried once, but I held my own! Lol

✨Best Moments of 2025 ✨

2025 was a full year in the best way. So much life, growth, and joy and being able to look back mostly smiling is truly a blessing.

• Spending meaningful time with the people I love
• Watching my baby experience pure joy 🥹
• Completing my time with TAG and beginning a new chapter with the Contemporary Art Museum Houston
• Falling back in love with painting, my very first medium 🎨
• Watching my husband be the culinary genius he is… I’m forever in awe of his gifts 👨🏾‍🍳 @latenitefeatures
• Skating just for fun and cardio; no pressure, just vibes 🛼
• Sweet family dates and unforgettable fashion moments
• Curating a workshop during my residency at the Children’s Museum (and gaining a new friend along the way!)
• Celebrating birthdays, weddings, art exhibits, and so much more

And the cherry on top? We’re welcoming a baby girl in 2026 💕

So grateful for the lessons, love, and joy of 2025. Here’s to an even brighter 2026 🫶🏾
