Yesterday, I fully returned to the field for the first time this year & while I was capturing moments, I caught myself daydreaming a few times. All I could think of was Oshwin Andries 🥺
I've never struggled so hard to write something, so I thought if I made a little video, maybe my words would come out.

No matter if you knew him personally or just by his name, this tragic loss has affected every one of us. For as long as I've been in the game, I've never seen a player rise so quickly in South African football. He was simply just a special kid on and off the field. I was in complete shock when hearing the news about his passing. I was literally watching his game vs Cape Town City FC a few days before he passed away and while watching it all I could do was just admire the amount of talent he had. He had so much potential in his game that I believed that he could play at the highest level possible, beyond PSL. What a player and what a player he would’ve become! I’m just so sad that yet another one of the South African bred talents has passed away. Football is truly not just about the game played, it’s also about the influence you have on the people around you and I can guarantee you that Oshwin showed many young footballers, children and adults that anything is possible with the hardwork that you add to the talent that you have.

His death has brought us all together & I really hope football clubs and parents will do more for players off the field to prevent tragic incidents like this from happening.

You are a hero in my heart & I will never forget you, Ossie😇

May your soul rest easy and fly high. 🕊❤️
