Playing his role as the Joker, the comedian, for the Level 2 handlers at the 2026 USMRA National Championship!

Joker was the Dog in White for Level 2, and did great on everything… except he does not have a trained little wood, YET!😅
But he had a great time running proudly around the field, doing what he does best…

He should win the most outgoing award. Such a happy, good sport. 🃏🐾

Some fun bits from Zeppelin’s nationals protection routine 💫
Grateful for a passing national championship score, a dog that’s my best friend, and a great team of people who all put on this wildly fun competition @osidemondio 🎉

Why does a win only feel like it matters when you’re in the spotlight, when everyone can see it? Why do we place our self worth as a dog trainer, as a competitor, or even as a person on whether we were better than somebody else that day?

The Mondioring journey holds so much more than just dog training to me. There are life lessons embedded in it, just like in any sport I would imagine, that go deeper than just a test of our abilities.
I’m always asking myself why I do this, and the answer keeps changing. Where it began is with my fascination with the connection between humans and dogs, and Mondioring being a way to explore how deep that connection can really go. But that’s just the root of a forever growing and flourishing tree. More and more reasons keep blossoming.

It’s become about team work, the quality of dogs, hard work, and perseverance in your craft.
It’s about getting outside your comfort zone and believing in yourself.
It’s about connecting with your people and sharing life changing experiences with them.
It’s about understanding where the sport came from and why it was created, and being part of something bigger by continuing what others built before us.
It’s about making sacrifices for your truth and hearts desires in life.
Mondioring has shaped me. It’s challenged my ego, my character, and how I view myself.
It’s an art, it’s a craft, it’s a love.

So why do we need recognition from others for our efforts, when we can look inside and feel how deep the love is for what we’re doing?
I know I’m not the only one who feels its depth. ❤️

As an 11 year old, every Saturday was like Christmas. I would count down the hours and lose sleep from the excitement of maybe, just maybe, being allowed to GET IN THE SUIT for a dog at the local dog training group I was apart of.
Guess what now? Adults can do whatever they want! And I chose this.

I certified as Mondioring decoy this weekend, and I could not be more excited! The journey officially begins now, and I can’t wait to keep developing this craft!
Huge huge HUGE thanks to @zack_kiser who got me here, you are a saint in my life, my friend. I hope you know what this means to me!

Also, another giant thank you to my club members at @osidemondio for allowing me to be apart of you dogs training programs and work them in the bite work. I love it more than anything, you guys are the bomb. 🥰

One more, shoutout to JOKER, my dog who played such a big role in this accomplishment. He’s my dog, but I’m his decoy, not his handler, and it was so fitting to use him as my dog in the certification and show case what we’ve taught each other. Thanks again @tommyverschueren for the perfect dog for what I need!

Okay, actually, just one last thank you to @anthonysagstetter, @zack_kiser, and @mondiomig for impeccable judging and feedback! 👌

See y’all out there on the field! 😝
