I hear this in a lot of conversations with B2B businesses.

And yes — more qualified leads are always welcome.

But when the leads coming in are poor quality, increasing the volume rarely fixes the problem.

Sometimes the issue starts much earlier in the buyer journey.

Your prospects are researching you long before they submit an enquiry or book a demo.

They’re looking at your website, LinkedIn, case studies, competitors, reviews — and increasingly, asking AI for answers.

So when they finally become a lead, how much do they already understand about:

What you actually solve?

Who you’re right for?

Why you’re different?

And whether they should trust you?

If those answers aren’t clear, you may still generate leads.

Just not necessarily the right leads.

That’s why I think B2B growth teams need to look beyond CPL and lead volume in 2026.

Yes, generate demand.

But also build enough clarity, relevance and proof that the right buyer is more informed — and more confident — by the time they reach sales.

Because better marketing shouldn’t just create more leads. It should create better sales conversations.

Seldom do you meet people who instantly make you feel at home. Last week, I had the privilege of spending time with Chef @shantanu.mehrotra, Executive Chef at @indianaccent

He didn’t just open his restaurant and kitchen to us - he opened his heart. His graciousness truly stayed with me long after we left.

We were also joined by @sourishb1963 - renowned food journalist and co-editor of The Bloomsbury Handbook of Indian Cuisine.
 He’s someone you’re simply grateful to be in the room with, absorbing his deep understanding of food and culture.
 The conversation was part of a larger initiative by @wethechefs.in, a platform connecting 300+ FSSAI-certified home chefs with food lovers - to bridge home kitchens with gourmet excellence, by giving home chefs access to learn, upskill, and engage with some of the finest culinary minds.

After we wrapped, the home chef video call her family. Her face lit up as she spoke about cooking in Chef Mehrotra’s kitchen… and sharing the stage with him.
She was ecstatic.

It made me realise the scale of what Vishal Sinha is building through We The Chefs - giving home chefs the centre stage, helping them upskill, gain confidence and financial independence.

Creating pathways like these takes vision.
