Had a great time hanging out with Michael from Kuraray and connecting with AJ from Megagen! 🦷🤝
At industry meetings, our focus goes beyond building relationships with doctors—it’s about building unity with our peers. We learn from each other because we share the same ultimate vision: to educate, support, and elevate healthcare together.
I truly believe that when we collaborate rather than compete, society as a whole evolves—leading to better quality and affordability for everyone. At the end of the day, our priority is simple: helping patients achieve the absolute best results.
No gimmicks, no sales tactics—just genuine outcomes. ✨

Guided or Free-Handed? That is the question! This is a cross section of pre-op and post-op CBCT for and extraction and dental implant placement. They essentially are identical. I rarely use guides. Some colleagues swear by them, but they're not perfect. In fact, I haven't touched a guide in almost 8 years! This patient cracked their upper right first premolar (#5) mesiodistally all the way to the furcation between both roots. IMO, taking a CBCT, using anatomical landmarks and reference points, and pre-planning angulation are key for success in dental implantology. My mentors in my AEGD residency always taught us: "Measure twice, cut once." This tooth was extracted atraumatically, the buccal wall was paper-thin (but still intact), and there was interradicular bone still present. I planned on placing a 3.7 x 10 mm Implant Club #dentalimplant (from @implant_ninja) in the palatal root alveolus 2 mm subcrestally to the palatal and buccal walls and 1 mm subcrestally to the furcational bone. The patient had 2 mm gingival tissue thickness, which supports the 4 mm tissue thickness rule for immediate implant placement success. I placed an OsteoGen plug (by @osteo_gen) in the buccal root alveolus for the bone graft at time of placement. No membrane required! I then placed a healing abutment and put a figure-8 suture to achieve secondary closure with 3-0 chromic gut. Oral surgeons and periodontists in the past have told me to "stay in my lane" and not do this procedure because I'm "just a dentist". Those are the critics with low self-esteem and feel threatened by a GP doing similar work. I have some awesome oral surgeon and periodontist friends that actually encourage me and have mentored me in placing dental implants. I post this and other cases that I've done to encourage you to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and get out of your comfort zone. You are capable of going similar work and achieving similar results in these advanced procedures! 😉 Don't let the critics get to you. The loudest ones are usually the jealous ones or those that don't have your skillset. Let the healing begin! In 3 months, this implant will be restored! #batdentist #implantclub #implantninja
