Last week we returned from the United States of America where many of us had the incredible opportunity to attend and perform at the North American Saxophone Alliance conference 2026 at The Ohio State University 🇺🇸.
Our Octet has worked so hard over the last two months to prepare for the event where they premiered three works by British composers in the USA :

“Cries, Bells, Chants and Whispers” by Roderick Skeaping
“Four Attempts to Connect with the Person I think I used to Be” by Michael Walters
“Missing […]” by Evie Ingles @evieingles.music

The experience is one we’ll never forget and we feel so incredibly lucky to have had so much support from BCU and RBC. A special thanks goes to all those at @osusaxophone in particular @lucinda.plays for their efforts in welcoming us and helping with instruments!

Finally, the Octet’s performance marked the final concert with @naomsulliski as head at RBC. We would like to say the biggest thank you to Naomi for inviting us on this trip and it has been our pleasure to perform alongside you. From all at RBC, you will be greatly missed 🎷

This past weekend, our studio headed out to Columbus Ohio for the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Conference at OSU! We got to see amazing lectures, performances AND masterclasses from wonderful saxophone professors/players all over the country! Our very own @jacob_dylan16 had several performances and original pieces of his own performed as well!

Most of our members also got to perform with the Intercollegiate Saxophone Ensemble on Sunday morning!!

This was such a special and inspiring trip for all of us and we are so happy we got to attend! #saxalliance

P.S. thank you @osusaxophone for being wonderful hosts!

I’m so bad at taking photos but I managed to snag a few at NASA 2026!

What a wonderful conference full of great music and great people. I feel so fortunate to be a part of the saxophone community and I’m always refreshed after spending a handful of days with my musical heroes and amazing friends.

Also, it was an incredible privilege to serve as a judge for this year’s quartet competition. It was inspiring to see so many well-prepared and hardworking groups presenting such artistic programs at the highest possible level. The opportunity to provide even the smallest bit of insight or feedback is one that I don’t take lightly. These young people are truly remarkable!

See you all in 2028! 🎷❤️

I am really tired but this year’s @saxalliance conference was special because I got to take my students along to experience their first NASA conference. Some of them had never flown before and others hadn’t left the state of Oklahoma.

Than you to department chair @drbenhay and @nsumusic as well as @nsucola Dean Shelburne for making this possible.

It’s been an inspiring weekend at the @saxalliance conference at @ohiostateschoolofmusic! 🎷 It was truly special to watch some amazing (and I don’t use the word lightly) performances by players who obviously care so deeply about their craft. And it doesn’t hurt to have a look around the exhibit hall either 😉
.
Thank you so much to @osusaxophone for being such a great team and making this conference a memorable experience 💚 Now… off to the practice room! 🎵
