🍊 TIP TUESDAY: 3 THINGS TO STOP DOING ON THE TREADMILL! 🚫🏃‍♂️

We’re here to get stronger, faster, and healthier, so let’s make sure our treadmill habits are helping us, not hurting us!

1️⃣ JUMPING THE RAILS 🏃‍♂️💨

I know… that feeling of instant relief after an all-out is tempting! But imagine sprinting outdoors at full speed and suddenly trying to stop on a dime. Your knees would NOT be happy!

👉 The better move: Reduce your speed and let the treadmill slow to a safe walking pace before stepping off. Control your recovery just like you control your effort!

2️⃣ CROWDING THE TREADMILL 🎯

Those four markers on your Orangetheory treadmill outline the Flex Deck — the sweet spot you want to run in! Staying centered helps you take advantage of the deck’s cushioning, which can reduce impact by up to 40%, helping protect your body with every stride.

👉 The better move: Find your position in the middle of those markers and give yourself room to move!

3️⃣ HOLDING ONTO THE RAILS AS A POWER WALKER 🛒

Friendly reminder: We’re power walking, not pushing a shopping cart!

Holding the rails can change your natural walking mechanics and reduce how much your arms, core, and lower body contribute to the movement.

👉 The better move: Stand tall, engage your core, drive your arms, and walk with purpose! If you need the rails for balance, lower your speed or incline until you feel safe and in control.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Good form matters just as much as your effort. Challenge yourself, respect your limits, and make every step count!

Man, I love what Jennifer Garner is saying here because it’s so true.

Your health isn’t just your physical health. It’s your mental health. Your emotional health. It’s how you feel when you wake up in the morning and how you show up for the rest of your day.

And listening to her talk, I kept thinking — this is exactly what I love about Orangetheory.

Get up. Move your body. Get your heart rate up. Do hard cardio. Lift weights. Find something you actually enjoy doing and make taking care of yourself a priority.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. You just have to keep showing up.

That one hour you give yourself can impact the other 23.
