Since it doesn’t look like I’m getting my old Instagram account back, allow me to reintroduce myself to my new Orange Theory community in Denver 🤗

A little about my journey: In college, I was a competitive figure skater for the University of Illinois. As an athlete, health and fitness have always been important to me, and I love pushing myself and seeing what my body is capable of. However, after graduating college, I was in a serious accident that led to 12 surgeries on my right foot and two years mostly wheelchair bound. This led to a ton of weight gain, body image issues, and low self esteem.

After years of physical therapy and re learning to walk, the doctors finally cleared me to start working out again, but I was so nervous to find a gym. I tried my first class at Orange Theory, and the coach immediately made me feel at ease. She met me where I was at, gave me options for anything I couldn’t do, and supported me the entire class. It felt like a safe space where all abilities were welcome, and I was hooked from day one.

Since starting my OTF journey, I’ve lost over 80 pounds, but more importantly, I gained my confidence back. I found a family of like-minded people who continually support me and cheer me on, and I’ve made some of my best friends through OTF. About 3.5 years ago, I decided that I wanted to become a coach and help change other people’s lives, since so many coaches have changed mine.

Orange Theory has become my safe space and my home. It’s the one hour a day where I do something for myself, because I can. I always say that you don’t HAVE to work out… You GET to work out. After being told I may never walk again, having the ability to move my body is something I will never take for granted.

This gym is a daily routine not just for me, but for my husband Matthew as well. We get to push each other and reach new goals together. Outside of the studio, you will find us doing anything active that we can. We love hiking, biking, skiing, watching sports, exploring local breweries and coffee shops, and traveling as much as possible.

Catch me on the mic Wednesday evenings and Saturdays @otf_baker and occasionally subbing @otfuptowndenver 🎤

It sounds cheesy to say "Orange Theory changed my life " but it has. Thanks to @otf_baker for making every workout a party, and always putting a smile on my face even when it's hard!!!! Special shout out to Coach Pam, you have made me feel like part of the family since day 1 🥹💪
