We have a new dish going on the menu today and I took many bad photos of it that I won’t share here. Instead please enjoy this video of Ryan tasting said dish at yesterday’s pre-shift with Chris making sounds of approval in the background. Then come by tonight to try it (it’s a fluke crudo with ume and sesame, and it is indeed YUMMEH)

Missing Japan? Same! These are my go-tos in LA when I need a little taste of it.

1. @azay_littletokyo in Little Tokyo for Japanese breakfast.
2. @marugame_monzo in Little Tokyo for handmade udon. I’m always ordering the cold ikura.
3. @tsujita_us for ramen. I love their tsukemen dipping noodles.
4. @ototo.la in Echo Park for sake and drinking snacks.
5. Multiple locations for sushi. I have too many favorites to pick one. Should I do a part 2?
