The Toronto Japanese Film Festival has come to a close.

Since the screening was in such a large theater, I was a little nervous, wondering how many people would come. I was truly overwhelmed and grateful to see so many people in the audience.

I also experienced my very first red carpet! 😄 I had no idea where I was supposed to look for the photos, and I felt a little shy, but it was such a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

After the screening, so many people came up to talk with me, and it made me incredibly happy.

I was also delighted that Masahiro Takahashi @ttmasa, one of the musicians who contributed music to ARUKU, and is based in Toronto was able to attend. Until now, we had only spoken online, so it was wonderful to finally meet in person and spend time talking together.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to the screening, and to @torontojff and @japanesecanadianculturalcentre for giving me this incredible opportunity. I’m also deeply grateful to all of the staff, who were so kind and supportive throughout the festival.

I will keep making films in the hope of returning to this wonderful festival again in the near future.
