Very happy to announce that Walsh WBB HC Johnny Montello will be leading a group of D1/D3 Women from Ohio to Portugal in May 2027! I have always wanted to have a group representing my home state and now we do! The seniors from the North Coast Conference, Ohio Athletic, and various D1 Ohio Universities are all eligible to join the team!

There’s something powerful about a picture of a girl walking forward while being held up by the people who love her. 🫶🏽

This wasn’t the way we imagined the beginning of her junior year. A new school year was supposed to mean books, basketball, goals, growth… not ACL surgery, a brace, rehab, and learning to trust each step again. But I believe there’s a lesson even here.

Isaiah 42:5 reminds us that YHWH, the Creator who stretches out the heavens, establishes the earth, gives breath, and gives spirit to those who WALK. And right now, my sweet Kiara Alexis is doing exactly that. Walking.
Maybe slower than she wants. Maybe differently than she planned. Maybe with a little help on each side. But still moving forward.

With each breath in, she is receiving inspiration. With each breath out, she is fueled with passion. Taking it one step at a time. One day. One assignment. One rehab session. One goal. And somewhere nearby, louder than everybody else combined, will be her Momma cheering her on, “OKAYYYYY KIARA, I SEE YOUUUU!!”

A HUGE thank you to @ott_wbasketball !!
The coaches, trainer, and teammates for taking care of my babygirl!
Especially @kconley_25 & @abbydicksonnn
