We’re here—The first post during our campaign to lead up the virtual event on June 15, in collaboration with our College, the College of International Studies, and the OU Alumni Association.

To kick us off we’re starting with introducing you to Rachel, who will be our first student travel takeover in a long time! We’re thrilled to welcome Gaylord College this week and tomorrow and Tuesday @_rachelorland will be taking over our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Snapchat as she travels from Oklahoma City all the way to Arezzo!

Meet Rachel:

“Hello everyone! My name is Rachel Orland. I am a public relations student with a Spanish minor going into my senior year at OU. I am so excited to be traveling abroad this summer to Arezzo with Gaylord in Arezzo and thrilled to be among the first students welcomed back to the center. I love traveling, especially when it involves sightseeing, hiking, local restaurants and lots of iced coffee. After last year’s lockdown, I got my vaccine and packed this summer full of trips and new adventures. I am looking forward to working with an international client and learning more about strategic communication beyond national borders. And, of course, the pasta making class. With all the COVID restrictions canceling the study abroad programs last summer, I am even more grateful to be welcomed into the center this summer. I’ve been told by past students, staff, and professors that studying abroad is a life changing experience, and I am so ready! I wanted to document my study abroad experience for my own memories, but also to share it with other. Feel free to keep up with my blog to read about tips and tricks I pick up, favorite dishes, and other study abroad stories.” Link in bio to Rachel’s blog.

Happy and safe travels, Rachel— a presto!
