I had such a wonderful Mother’s Day! @desperado28 and Eliza know what’s up! 🥰

But the best part of Mother’s Day simply is knowing that I get to be this kiddo’s Mommy. And that’s an amazing thing!

Q. What would you do if you could change history?

A. Ok maybe not exactly change history but help improve the future outcome of historical events that weren’t the best situation for marginalized, even enslaved people.

Point: That’s what #artist try to do. We act as a #culturalconduit to help better connect people, communities, build camaraderie and we stand as a bridge for where once there was a great divide. It’s a hard and painful task but with prudence for all parties it can bring great joy through cathartic healing. Some of the First 15 Black Jockey Winners of the Kentucky Derby were born into #slavery, were treated unjustly and suffered greatly if you want to know more please follow @echoes.of.our.ancestors Dir. @officialdesireeliyah can connect you! Thank you George Taylor for inviting me and sharing my Gold & Silver Leaf Manifest Black Jockey Excellence - my attempt to redeem their legacies all in one place for the public to be educated in a fun and meaningful way!

Tonight, May 10th, 2024 my Bourbon Barrel Head and Bourbon Barrel will be auctioned off at @thejockeybar.lex sponsored by @alltechinc and @longwoodantiquewoods coordinated by @pinhookdesign and @lexeventco . Proceeds go to benefit @fayettealliance. Out of 84 Artist they only chose 10 and I am one of the 10 - a great privilege of which I did not waste for as an Artist I advocate for the rich beautiful history of #blackjockeyexcellence and as an #artpatron you can also align yourself and support his rich #american heritage by bidding on them, and talk with Dir. @officialdesireeliyah !

One of our favorite events…some of our favorite female chefs…a definite favorite way to show folks from around the country how we do things #virginia style! This year’s event, like all of them, plays a major role in supporting Lexington, KY’s underserved communities. We absolutely love being a part of this effort year after year! #foodchainlex #love #lovefxbg #chefslead #virginiaisforlovers

SAVEUR Magazine Part 6
The Chefs //

In addition to the documentary work I also completed several recipe shots. Getting to work with some of the best chefs across the region was inspiring.

Seen here are chefs Ouita Michel (Holly Hill), Bob Perry (UK Culinary Program) and his assistant Wyatt, a chef in his own right. All of the dishes used the Berry Beef (Our Homeplace Meats) as the main ingredient.

The work I did with SAVEUR was to shed some light on a passionate group of farmers and eco-strategists working to create a sustainable and ethically raised cattle, specifically for higher-end restaurants or consumers to which this approach has appeal. There are many sides to this story but now I understand the effort that goes into making our food options work better for everyone.

I travelled to New Castle KY, Midway KY, Lexington KY and Ohio to complete all of the imagery. I met many wonderful people including the folks at The Berry Center. My dream gig is food, landscape, and people and this one had it all. Grateful for the chance to work with this great publication. #leica #leicasl2

THANK YOU ALL : for celebrating Kentucky with us always, especially this last week for the Derby. We had such fun making great food from local producers, slinging mint juleps, eating chocolate pecans and listening to Bluegrass. Thanks especially to those of you who filled our porch at the Holly Hill Inn on Saturday for a delightful, inaugural party. Shall we do it even bigger next year?

As promised, the winner of two seats to our Cooking Class in the Versailles Studio on May 30 : @annebrownell ! Thank you all so much for all of your little love notes to your favorite Holly Hill and Co. restaurants.
