The Wisconsin Sharp-tailed Grouse Society is working with the Audobon Society to help sharptails on private land. @ashly.steinke Audubon's Conservation Ranching Grassland Ecologist will be going door to door in the Oulu Grasslands, talking to landowners about managing their property for Sharp-tailed grouse. This is a brand new direction for our organization, never have we worked so directly on private land. However, to save these birds and this landscape, a multi-pronged approach is required. See the map on slide 3, the Oulu Grasslands are required to link the Moquah Barrens and the Barnes Barrens. As an organization, we are committed to the Stepping Stones approach, believing it to be the best way forward given the reality of a fragmented population. Leave a comment below and give Ashly some encouragement. We are very excited to be supporting his efforts. Also, would you buy a shirt with the design on the last slide to support these efforts? Let us know. #wisharptails #sharptailgrouse #sharptailedgrouse #wisconsin #privateland #landmanagement #doortodoor
