Where has volunteering taken you? 🌍 💙

What you wore, what you did, where you went… and what you learned along the way. ✨ 💕

From our World Centres to international events and local community activities, volunteering can take us to places we never expected. Each experience brings opportunities to learn by doing, practise leadership and discover new perspectives.

Across Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting, volunteers share their time and skills to support others on their learning journeys, while continuing to learn, grow and find new ways to contribute to our Movement.

Now it’s your turn! Tell us where volunteering has taken you in the comments!👇🏼 💬

Guiding has given me some of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

From celebrating the Guiding Centenary at Our Chalet in 2011, to returning as a volunteer that same year, and taking part in the Juliette Low Seminar in 2019 — these opportunities shaped me, challenged me and opened my world.

Today, I’m giving back because I know what one opportunity can mean.

Only a few hours left for WAGGGS World Giving Day.

I’ve made my contribution. Will you help create the next opportunity for a girl somewhere in the world?

💙 Every contribution counts. Give while there’s still time, the link is on my bio or in @wagggsworld post!

📸 If your volunteering journey had an album, what would you call it?

Every volunteer has a camera roll full of moments worth remembering. The laughs, the lessons, the people we meet, the challenges we take on and the little moments that stay with us. 💙

Volunteering is full of experiences that help us learn by doing, grow in confidence and practise leadership along the way. And over time, those moments become part of our stories. 🌱

So, if your volunteer journey had an album, what would you name it? Tell us in the comments! 👀🎞️

Our Girl Guide, INGENZI Ange Pascaline, recently completed a three-month volunteering experience at Our Chalet World Centre in Switzerland, where she developed valuable leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through training, adventure activities, cultural exchange, and international collaboration. Upon returning to Rwanda, Ange shared her experience and lessons with the @guidesrwanda team, inspiring others and transferring the knowledge she gained. Her journey demonstrates how international Girl Guiding opportunities can empower young leaders to bring new skills, ideas, and perspectives back home, benefiting fellow Girl Guides and contributing positively to their communities. @wagggsworld @yessgirlsmovementrwanda @yessgirlsmovementwagggs @our_chalet @swissguides

The countdown to #WorldCleanupDay is on! ⏳🌍

What does it look like when young people take the lead on plastic pollution?

Through WAGGGS’ Plastic Tide Turners Challenge (PTTC), young people are learning about the impact of plastic and waste, then turning what they learn into action in their schools, communities and everyday lives. 🌊

That might mean organising a clean-up, getting others involved, finding creative ways to reduce waste, or simply starting a conversation that makes someone think twice about their choices.

It’s also about looking beyond the clean-up itself and thinking about the kind of communities we want to live in, contributing to SDG 11 and SDG 12 along the way. 🏡♻️
Because change doesn’t always start with a big idea. Sometimes it starts with one young person deciding to do something differently, and getting others to join in. 💚

Did you know? The most powerful cleanup might be the one that prevents waste from being created in the first place.

Plastic pollution is shaped by the choices we make every day: what we buy, use, reuse and throw away. 🛍️🥤

Through WAGGGS’ Plastic Tide Turners Challenge, young people are learning to rethink those everyday choices and take action:
🙅 Refuse what you don’t need
📉 Reduce what you use
🔄 Reuse what you can
♻️ Recycle responsibly

Because a cleaner planet isn’t just about picking up waste. It’s about creating less of it. 🌱

What’s one plastic habit you could change today? 💬👇

Some pictures from our time in Switzerland.

We had the most amazing time in such a beautiful place with some amazing people.
We went to our chalet the WAGGGS first world center where lola and a few guides got to make their promises, an absolutely incredible experience.
We went ziplining, swimming with a view, and Bella got caught in a water fight with the guides.
We met so many other amazing guides and leaders that helped make this experience unforgettable.
We had the best time and are so grateful we got to go on this adventure.
Thank you to everyone that supported and cheered us on we will never forget the great time we had in Switzerland.

Pokémon really does bring people together! 🥹🩷

While staying at Our Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland 🇨🇭 I met Sidney, one of their amazing team who came all the way from North Carolina! 🇺🇸

We discovered that we’re both HUGE Pokémon fans AND we both have the same favourite Pokémon — Sylveon! ✨

So obviously… we had to have a Pokémon pack battle! 😂⚔️

Who do you think won? 👀
