… and how does that actually play out? You’re easy to work with, because you say yes to everything. You soften every response to avoid the conflict. You read the room so well you forgot to be in it. 🎙️ @ourcorethings

In my sessions, I encourage people to actually use their voice. Out loud. Not held, not edited. Someone came in recently and said, ‘There’s something here for me.’ We started working with his voice, and partway through, something shifted. By the end, he said it felt like a weight had lifted off his throat. ‘I feel like I can speak again.’ This is what somatic work does that talking alone can’t. The body holds what the mind forgets. And sometimes it just needs permission to let it go 🤍 If this resonates, send me a message. I’d love to hear what your voice has been holding x 🎙️ @ourcorethings @claudia1ee

For years I wondered why I shrink myself. Why I whisper. Why I edit every sentence before it leaves my mouth. I finally traced it back in my timeline. My voice wasn’t lost. It was taken, a long time ago, before I even had words for what was happening. I’m still finding my way back to it. Not an easy journey, but I don’t think I’m alone in it 🤍 Full story on the podcast, link in DM. x With @ourcorethings @claudia1ee

I first came across Claudia Lee’s work on Substack, where she writes beautifully about self-trust, alignment, and the quieter sides of transformation. It was a pleasure to join her on her podcast @ourcorethings to talk about my upcoming book The Slingshot Effect, the emotional side of career reinvention, and what it really takes to let go of old identities and move into something new. Grateful for the thoughtful conversation and for spaces like this that make room for the deeper layers of change. Just search for Our Core Things on Spotify to listen, or visit the “Podcasts” highlight on my profile for the link.
