you girls, make any room feel like home 💙 when I was 26, the week before I got engaged, a male coworker suggested we share a hotel room on a business trip when our flight was cancelled. He didn’t like when my answer was no. When women travel for business, they should know they will always have a friend in the room, which is why we built our Kick Off Brunch - a place to gather, center but most importantly, build a circle! I’ll say it again: thank you girls, for making every room feel like home. 🏡 Next stop: SXSW - who wants to join us!?

It’s a networking community for women, but not the stiff, business-card, elevator-pitch kind. Their whole thing is: come as you are. Like, your whole self. Yes, career stuff. But also the messy stuff. The good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between. Because we’re all juggling way more than our job titles. 💕

In the middle of our event yesterday, I opened my phone and got full body chills. Business Insider wrote about Our Third Place. We sat down with Amanda Hoover to explain why we are raising money through friends & angel investors: to keep our community growth authentic and consumer-need based. We’re raising to hire a team, expand into new verticals, and, above all, create a warm, welcoming member experience that supports the whole you. I am so proud of what we have raised to date, and the people who have said YES. Please know, our doors are officially open for angels. Let’s do this thing! Sometimes you don’t need a new plan. You need to be reminded why you started. ✨ A weekend surrounded by ambitious women, founders, business owners and leaders at @createcultivate was exactly that for me. So many conversations and sessions brought me back to a few simple reminders I think every entrepreneur needs from time to time: Start before you’re ready. Take the risk. Stop waiting for outside validation. Protect your vision. And don’t get so focused on the destination that you forget to appreciate where you are right now. Building a business requires you to believe in yourself over and over again, sometimes before anyone else sees what you see. One thing @emmagrede said has stayed with me: “Within you is something you don’t even understand yet. None of us have a full understanding of what we are capable of.” That one hit. ❤️‍🔥 I came home grateful for the opportunity, grateful for the women I met, and with a little extra fire for what I’m building.
