Mom,

It has been almost three months since you passed away, and I haven’t been the same. We didn’t always have the best relationship, but now all I wish for is more time—more conversations, more understanding, and more chances to simply be there.

I miss you. People say time heals wounds, and maybe it does, but I know this one is going to take time.

Today, for the first time since you passed, I was able to get outside, feel like myself again, and do something I truly love—photography. A friend took me out, and we had a great time. It felt good to enjoy life again, even if only for a little while.

With fall quickly approaching, I hope to spend more time outdoors, taking pictures, enjoying life, and thinking about you.

I love you with all my heart, Mom.

I miss you more than words can say.
