Tickets on sale now at link in bio.

Who doesn’t love a beautifully figured timber handle on their knife, and the NSW Cutlers Expo will have some of the best from Australia’s foremost experts in Aussie hardwoods, overseas timbers and stabilised products.

Whether it’s Australian hardwoods like Ringed Gidgee, Tasmanian Blackwood, SheOak, beautiful Burls, etc... or overseas timber like Walnut, Bog Oak, Arizona Desert Ironwood or Hawaiian Koa, right through to the dyed timbers, and of course resin hybrid material, the choice will be varied and magnificent.

Of ourse don’t forget about the exotics of Mammoth, Antler, Horns, Bones and other types of hard to get material that will be available at the show.

Handle material will be available from;
@thetimberjoint
@reclaimcreative
@outbacktimbers
@refined_by_james
@beaverbadger68_
As well as many knifemakers who sell some beautiful timbers as well.

The biggest decision you’ll make is, how not to buy them all...

This Premium Hunter really comes to life in the light. The curly Rosewood has incredible depth and chatoyance, complemented by a carbon fibre/copper spacer, stainless steel guard, and a 26C3 blade with a beautiful natural hamon.
This one will be heading to the New South Wales Cutlers Expo on the last weekend of August. If you're there, be sure to stop by and have a look in person.

175mm 'Fishhook' Mk. II

- 52100 steel from @gameco.artisan.supplies
- Some gorgeous stableised/dyed Curly Mango from @outbacktimbers
- Black G10 and Bog Oak spacers

Another blacked out S-grind with some forge texturing on the flats and spine. The handle is a bit more slimline than my usual (Largely because I absolutely butchered the first attempt, but thankfully managed to save the offcut.) Slight taper towards the butt with an internal friction-fit peg. A late housewarming gift for my dear brother, finally ready to be put to use! 😎

Cheers for lookin'. 🤙

I was asked to make this knife a while back, the new owner gave me some ideas as to what he wanted and this is what I came up with🙂 2mm 26c3 high carbon steel, (also known as ‘spicy white’) with cool Hamon line, hardened and tempered to 63hrc. Hours of grinding and hand sanding, to achieve the ultra fine distal taper and razor edge. The handle is some stunning spalted Tamarind from @outbacktimbers , which looks real nice against the acid etched blade, a simple black veg tan slip sheath keeps that edge safe🙂 #chefsknife #cheflife #chefsknives #chefskitchen #cooksknife #kitchenknife #kitchenknives #sharpknives #sharpknife #sharpknivesmatter
