Parallel Windsor 🧡
•
We had the most amazing day at Parallel Windsor. Now Riley has the bug for races, and mumma was desperate to see the inclusive festival, we all signed up for the 5k race to raise money for Peeps. "Start Together, Finish Whenever" a fully inclusive and accessible race. It was full of different abilities, various mobility devices and LOTS of smiles. The vibe was infectious. Everyone cheering each other on and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We loved it. And upon crossing the finish line we all got t-shirts, medals and goody bags.
•
The festival after, was just as wonderful. An immense display of inclusion and joy. Ivy even joined in rock climbing and went all the way to the top (yes, Mumma had heart palpitations 😅) The team at @outdooredco were AMAZING. Made sure she was safe, secure and comfortable and when they brought her down, she shouted and complained, so they let her go for another turn and she kicked her happy feet the whole way back up (little diva). It was amazing to see. She is an absolute daredevil, so it was a wonderful experience for her and for Mumma too.
•
Every little detail was thought about. Everything accessible. Everyone's abilities were considered. We absolutely cannot wait to go again next year.
When we were leaving Riley said "I wish all festivals were like this". Me too kid. Me too.

This is what a bunch of friends with learning disabilities who love the outdoors looks like 🧡🙌🏼

Incredible day of climbing with young people who are extremely experienced leading the way and inspiring their friends to try, then celebrating EVERY SINGLE SUCCESS along the way 🤩

Incredible support and instruction from Craig, Ellis, Sim, Lauren, Rich and Anna as well as parents and support workers 🙌🏼🤩.

Thank you @abbie_merritt_ for capturing it on camera 🧡

So I guess that concludes another UK summer season! Which means this will be the 4th season in Australia and it starts tomorrow! Starting the long haul flight to Perth and then down to Margs! I'm hoping to have 3 expeds two off the bat to Karinjini and then upto Exmouth. Followed by a trip to Tassi, but some things ant quite set in stone yet but I'm hopeful...

This summer has been jam packed of work! I've even got a few good caving trips in 😁 I also spent time with old friends and see a lose friend @paul_d_moore leave the industry 🫡 (will always be weird not seeing you at morning meeting)

A lovely day out for @jsoiadventures director, Joel, with the @outdooredco and their mobile wall at @dunstercastlent as part of the @nationaltrust 'Summer of Play'! 😁👍🧗☀️

And while this was all going on, JSOI Team-member Joe was running a full on day of indoor climbing sessions at the Corsham Climbing Wall for a mix of groups and private coaching slots. 🧗

Tomorrow JSOI team members Megan, Jasmine, Joe & Joel are running out ever popular Holiday Club days with their own mobile climbing wall, the @wanderingwallofficial! 🧗💪🗺🔫🎯
