POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

June 30, 2025. @iare.david and I had just pedaled through two days on one of the most isolated stretches of the Western Express through Utah. That day we rode from Hog Springs, just outside Hanksville, to Capitol Reef. We camped beside this barn with a small audience of horses.

I took the first photo in September 2026, when I got the chance to drive back through on my way to a film festival in Crested Butte. Same road, very different speed.

Self developed and scanned.

From Virginia to San Francisco, Zach Thompson rode over 4,000 miles in just two months to raise money for vulnerable children, and in doing so, saw God’s faithfulness in action.

Days 52-58 - Nevada proving to be the surprise state of the trip: more mountains than Colorado, ghost towns, sunsets, stars, Top Gun jets, and one very lonely but beautiful stretch of road.

Tom and Zach

Tom and Zach came in Wednesday late afternoon. Tom is a recent Economics graduate, originally from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and Zach had an impressive camera hanging from his neck! I do not even remember if I asked about work but he’s married and has a couple cats!! Sprout is one of them. How cute is that name! We talked gardening and #bigmuddymonster and #echothesuperdog got lots of attention. We had pulled pork sandwiches for dinner. No #patsbbq this time as I had smoked a pork butt this week.
We went to see the statue and drove down by #bigmuddybrewery but it was closed.
Thursday morning we had breakfast and before they could get out the door the roofers were here to start work on replacing the roof. That sent #echothesuperdog into a frenzy.
I’m sure Tom and Zach were relieved to get onto a quiet road! They are headed to Farmington, MO to meet up with the guys who were here last night as they were staying in Farmington for a rest day.
This afternoon I have 3 more coming one I think is from the Northwestern part of the United States and two from the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 🇺🇸

On Tuesday next week I’ll be dipping my back tire in the Atlantic Ocean on the beach of Yorktown Virginia and will begin a 4,300 mile bike trip across the United States. I want to use this amazing opportunity to support @lifelinechild and their incredible work in, supporting birth mothers, equipping adoptive families, and placing vulnerable children in loving homes.

It’s something that is very close to my family and is important to me. When I was a kid we were a foster home for newborns, and I married my amazing wife @_jenna_rae_ who had the same heart and now has worked full time in adoption for years.

I hope that you join me in any way, in supporting this cause and ask for prayers during this journey 💙🇺🇸
