Working with @outpawsdw with her dog Packer.
Diana is very nervous with her dog as he is big and he snapped at Walter (the other dog before.)

If you tense up on the leash as your walking passed another dog, your dog feels that as he is attached to that leash and you essentially are creating the problem.
Relax your arms and the leash, give yourself space between the other dog and keep it moving.

We are working on @outpawsdw confidence not the dogs today. 😉

She has done any amazing job!

Check Packer Out!
Learning to be calm ...
When I first met Packer and his family the first thing I was greeted with was excessive jumping and whining mainly because he had a leash on and could not settle with the leash attached to his collar, removing the leash made a difference but you still had tons of whining and unsettlement... we also went back to crate training even at 5 years old. Fast forward to 3-4 weeks later very minimal to no whining in the crate or while holding place duration ....

Do you wanna know the secret?

Well.... since you asked...

STRUCTURE. CONSISTENCY. BOUNDARIES... and.... the best for last..... ECOLLAR!

Why Ecollar?
Because they can communicate with him from a 1/2 mile radius to get him to settle into a position like this.

Don’t bash tools you many be misinformed by your neighbors, friends or relatives... find a trainer who is well educated in using this type of tool and teaches YOU how to properly use it.

Packers owner and entire family get together every week to learn new commands and every single one of them put in the time to train him EVERYDAY and they are doing fantastic!! 🥰♥️🐾🐶

Welcome Packer to Sam’s K9!
He has joined our Private Off Leash Program.

Packer is a 5 year old Pit/Mastiff Mix
That tends to be anxious, barks excessively for your attention at times, has no off switch when play time needs to be over, jumps on people, and tends to be reactive on leash sometimes.

Packer has never been in a crate before. First thing is to get him comfortable in his crate and have him understand this is his safe place.

WHY ARE WE CRATE TRAINING A 5 YEAR OLD DOG NOW?

Because he lacks manners, impulse control, most importantly he has an unhealthy mind set, at times can not settle. In order to teach the things we want we need to prevent and control the things we don’t want in the beginning. Once we have a clear communication Packers crate time with significantly degree.
Long term Packer may not be able to have full range of the house or left out on his terms because of his anxiety but, that isn’t even close to meaning he isn’t going to live a happy full life!

His family is AWESOME and every single person in the house hold was there to listen and absorb what he needs for a happy life and all of them were 100% onboard which means 0% inconvenience which also means no stress on anyone!

| Did I ever tell y’all how much I LOVE all of the local dog walkers? It really is such a special community and so nice that not only we can bounce ideas off of each other but also that we can help each other out when needed. This is Brooke, one of @fluffyandfidopetcare babies. She’s booked this weekend so TKDW is here to help make sure Brooke gets some fresh air and exercise |
