What’s the driving force behind your writing? For one of our clients, Angela Arias @writerangelaarias646, the passion is to bring her experience across countries, cultures, and conversations to encourage everyone following in her footsteps.

Angela brings a richness of understanding people, from her childhood in the Dominican Republic to growing up in the United States. Then, with her education, career, and retirement dedicated to helping students of all ages, she writes to help others caught between worlds reach their true potential.

At Elizabeth’s Writing Corner, we were excited to jump on board and support Angela’s mission. When other publishing companies said the English and Spanish editions of her new book could not be completed simultaneously, we laughed. When Angela suggested passing over the English version for edits while she completed the Spanish translation, we were all in. What others saw an impossibility, we saw as a challenge to go above and beyond.

Now, Angela’s intimate stories of family, love, and memory touch the hearts and minds of immigrants across cultures. The completed books are the perfect follow up to her first award-winning publication, Half A Century Ago, that follows her early childhood journey.

Whether your family has moved cultures in the past one, three, five, or twenty-five generations, we’re all immigrants in one way or another and can all find a point of compassion and encouragement in Angela’s stories. Pick up her books through your favorite online distributor!

At Elizabeth’s Writing Corner, we light the way for authors’ dreams to come true. No matter how long a rough draft has hidden in the dark without a clear vision for completion, we are dedicated to making it happen.

Take, for example, “Ten Things About Ryan” by Cara Zang @c_zang1. As our favorite book award company @outstandingcreatorawards describes it, “A heartbreaking and deeply personal memoir about childhood friendship, first love, devastating loss, and the memories that keep someone alive long after they’re gone. This book is brief, powerful, and difficult to forget.”

The work it took to dust off Cara’s middle grade manuscript and put it on a shelf for her readers to find and enjoy was well worth it. We are honored that this author reached out to us to help her dream to make the book a reality. Now, as the story of Ryan’s impact on the world makes waves both in the community and throughout cyberspace, we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Check out this new release at your favorite online book distributor today.

What an incredible surprise to read this deeply touching review of Marky the Magnificent Fairy: A Disability Story of Courage, Kindness, and Acceptance by Cynthia Kern O’Brien, illustrated by Jeff Yesh, shared by Outstanding Creator Awards!

The review’s closing words touched me deeply:

“More than three years after we first reviewed it, Marky continues to put enormous smiles on our faces. We loved her in 2023, we loved revisiting her in 2025, and we still love her today. That’s the kind of lasting impression that outstanding children’s literature can make.

After all, you don’t need two perfectly functioning wings to soar in life. Sometimes, all you need is the courage to believe in yourself, the freedom to pursue your dreams, and a few good friends who recognize how magnificent you already are.”

Those words brought tears to my eyes. Their message about courage, dreams, and good friends is one I hope stays with children—and readers of every age. It reminded me why I continue doing this work: stories can encourage us, stay with us, and help us see the magnificent possibilities in one another.

Thank you, Steven, for revisiting Marky and featuring the book as part of the 2026 Clash of Champions. And thank you, Cynthia Kern O’Brien, for writing this wonderful book and having faith in Story Monsters® Press to publish it.

Jeff Yesh, your illustrations continue to speak volumes and bring the words to life.

This incredible review truly made my month!

Well… apparently I spoke too soon. :)
The other day I asked:

“OH MY GOSH! HOW CAN I POSSIBLY BE ANY MORE OVER THE MOON?”

Turns out, I can. ❤️🎶✨

Steven Seril of Outstanding Creator Awards just gave The Great Animal Escape Theme Song an incredible 93/100 review!

Steven has a remarkable way of seeing the entire creative picture—the story, the characters, the music, the performance, and the people behind it.

One line especially stopped me:

“Linda F. Radke and Studio Story Monsters continue finding creative ways to extend children’s stories beyond the printed page…”

YES! ❤️ That is exactly what we are trying to do.

Congratulations to author Linda Harkey, composer Zachary R. Simpson, performer Erin Rementer, Jeff Yesh, and Team Story Monster!

And one more very special celebration…

Congratulations to Steven and his wife on welcoming their beautiful baby Athena into the world. 🧡

Athena, I would like to officially welcome you as the newest little Story Monster in the universe!

And always…

the best is yet to come. ❤️

Wow! Thank you Outstanding Creator Awards! This review of my new children's book Gigglet and Wigglet's Alphabet Hop! left me speechless! Thank you sooooooo much for your kind and honest review; this is just above and beyond! My greatest hope/wish is that others feel the same way and can spread the love, kindness, and cheer with all the children and sweet little curious minds in their lives!

I appreciate you and all you do for so many! Being an independent author means wearing every hat and navigating every step of the journey largely on your own, which is no small feat. Having programs like OCA makes this challenging journey so much fun and deeply inspirational. You truly instill hope and act as a powerful catalyst for indie creators everywhere! 🥰
