Still after 14 years of slinging paint from coast to coast, #nyc has to be one of my favorite canvases to paint. Painted this a few years back on #blockandtackle rig with @jasperpatch for @overallmurals ! Fun fact bout this job, we got hit with an earthquake while on the rig that was felt up and down the eastern coastline! #alwayshandpainted #muralist #walldoggin

Sunsets over the largest prairie mural designed by artist @jamesprosek✨🧑‍🎨🪻

Such a refreshing sunset that complements this iconic mural after a rain storm that broke a dry spell in Fort Worth, Texas!

Fort Worth sits on what is called the Grand Prairie, a tallgrass prairie dominated by species like little bluestem, sideoats grama, and Indian grass. “This city was built on ranching, and ranching was built on prairies, making grasses pivotal to Texas history,” says Prosek, who hopes his mural will raise awareness for the historical ecosystem and the need to restore it.

MURALS FOR MEMORY / OKERE CITY, OTUKE DISTRICT.

In far Northern Uganda, tucked away in OTUKE District, there is one of the last still organically organized villages in the region — @okerecity

I was honored to be invited there to paint a series of murals, not for a festival, not for a wall, but for the elders.

Okere City holds something incredibly rare called “GADI”— a creative circle, a convening. A space intentionally created to celebrate the elders. Their creativity, their community, their wisdom, their stories, and their lived experiences.

In a world that moves fast and forgets quickly, GADI says: _Let us sit. Let us remember. Let us honor those who carried us._

My murals were created to be part of that celebration — to reflect their faces back with dignity, to hold their stories in color, to remind them that their memories matter.

This work is more than paint. Research shows that when elders are seen, heard, and engaged through art, storytelling, and community gathering, it supports brain health, strengthens memory, reduces isolation, and keeps the mind active and connected.

Thank you to the @memorymosaicsinitiative and @rawdneyk for trusting me with this journey and linking art to elder care in such a powerful way.

And deepest gratitude to @okerecity — to the elders, the leaders, and the entire community — for welcoming me, teaching me, and allowing me to create with you.

This series is for you.
Stay tuned for more murals and results here.
