Nineteen years ago today, I’ll never forget the way you first looked at me. As time has (swiftly) passed, what I notice most is how I now look at YOU. Happy 19th Birthday to my favorite person: the kindest human I’ve ever met and the one I strive to be the most like every single day. I’m so very proud of you and love you the most @owengray169169 💙🎉

❤️this! This is why the internet is dope (sometimes😅). I gave you MY best option for max bench pressing or pressing to failure safely but there are more options. I stand by my recommendation and also agree with the comments with a couple of caveats: 1) DBs are a valid option for safely training to failure; provided that you keep your ego and form in check. If you can't control it, lighten it up and focus on doing the weight you can control for more reps. 2) Smith (or Smythe) machine bench, reluctantly, is also a valid option. I do not recommend it for determining your true 1RM b/c that will not translate to a free weight barbell bench press max AND you cannot bail in case of an emergency ❌ SAFE. BUT as a tool to SAFELY fatigue the muscles, it is dope. The goal as always is to lift SAFELY. So you can lift hard. So you can be strong. Because being strong is awesome! 🫡 #gymsafety #benchpressbeginner #maxeffort #gymtipsforbeginners
