The great thing about golf is that, like football, I know if I focus solely on it for the next 20 years—committing my time, mind, and money—I’ll still be absolutely terrible. ⛳️

AKSIL has just been long-listed for the 2025 British Independent Film Awards @bifa_film for Best British Short Film! We’re speechless to say the least…and absolutely thrilled to be included in the company of such amazing films.

Representation matters, and through making this film we were constantly reminded of how rich the British cultural tapestry has become thanks to its immigrant communities.

A massive thanks to the cast, crew, and everyone who made this film happen. Without them, none of this would have been possible.

Big news! Aksil will have its world premiere at the @flickers.riiff on August 9th.

This film has been a labour of love from an incredible team of collaborators across different cultures, disciplines, and backgrounds, all coming together around a story that felt personal to each of us.

Huge shoutout to our cast and crew for pouring so much care and talent into this. We can’t wait to finally share the film.

So much love for everyone who brought this one to life-and to Khalil and Seif for trusting me with the story. More soon, but for now, here’s a glimpse.
