When DC's Office On Neighborhood Safety and Engagement put out a call for youth and family engagement activities that contribute to grief management and community healing, our parent company, CitiLife Development, answered the call!

The result:
SOUL SKETCH. A Creative Release Retreat.

Held at Capitol View Neighborhood Library in DC's Ward 7, our team of creators, peer ambassadors, and community outreach specialists produced a dynamic gathering for sharing, creating, and expressing some of the feelings that we sometimes struggle to put into words.

Moving on after loss
Job search frustrations
"New me" vs "old me"
Family stress

...were just SOME of the experiences that participants noted as backstories to their art. The overall consensus: LET'S DO MORE OF THIS!!!! MORE SOUL SKETCH, PLS!!!

The Ascend Retail Cohort is coming - save the date!

Accelerate your retail business alongside other entrepreneurs! This year’s Ascend Retail Accelerator, powered by the Washington Area Community Investment Fund (WACIF) helps entrepreneurs navigate a complex retail environment and build resilient businesses in an ever-changing marketplace.

Being an entrepreneur means facing many challenges: from raising capital to strategic planning to external biases affecting day-to-day operations, all while crossing off the “typical” line items to grow your enterprise. WACIF’s Award winning Ascend Capital Accelerator supports entrepreneurship, working to help low to moderate income business owners better navigate these issues.

If you are interested in taking your business to the next level, consider applying for our Fall cohort!

Applications open July 21.
