A pair of new acquisitions is on view right now in the "A More Perfect Union" show! We were lucky enough to purchase a set of three photographs by Berenice Abbott at auction this summer for the museum's permanent collection. These images come from her series of black and white photographs of New York in transition in the 1930s; part of a WPA federal arts project. Stop by the museum Tuesday through Friday or Sunday afternoon to see them in person!

New acquisitions come to the museum in many ways, some are purchased, but most come to us from our generous friends! This painting by Richard Wengenroth was given to us this spring by long time museum and OWU supporter Nancy LaPorte Meek '59. Richard Wengenroth was an OWU professor for 20 years from 1951-71.

A huge thank you to all who made this possible! Wednesday we were thrilled to be involved in the unveiling of a new addition to the Gillespie Honors House: the beautiful painting "Fairbow Farm" by artist Mark Gingerich. The painting was a gift of Kevin ‘70 and Nancy McGinty in honor of Bob Gillespie ‘66, after whom the honors house is named. Commission of the painting was a group effort by Ann Gillespie '67, The Ross Art Museum, and the ART 492: Exhibitions Practice Class. The painting is part of the Ross Art Museum’s Collection and will be displayed permanently in the Gillespie Honors House, where it will serve as a lasting tribute to Bob Gillespie. ♥

We wish to honor and recognize the 1971 Battling Bishop Football team that over Homecoming weekend, was inducted into the OWU Athletics Hall of Fame.

Led by Coach Jack Fouts and All-American Steve Dutton, the Bishops ended the regular season with a 9-1 record and earned a trip to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, at the time, the Regional Championship Game.

Their legacy is forever solidified in our rich history and tradition at Ohio Wesleyan!!
