Journey time line : 4/12/2007 (42 yrs) to 9/26/2026 (62 yrs) Lessons learned : similar to marriage, just keep showing up regardless of all the dark days. The friends you have on the mat will also be there with you to the end of your life. The bond is inexplicable. Extremely grateful and very humbled. Mahalo all for helping me grow and becoming a decent human being. No words can express my gratitude to @manojiujitsu - my 2nd home. Much love

I just want to thank everyone who has helped make this possible. I wanna thank my wife @j_chieko for putting up with my obsession and being so understanding and supportive. I want to thank my Professors @flowitheroll and @junjitsulife for all your guidance and for trusting me with representing you and Mano. I will do my best to make you proud. I want to thank @knee2belly for taking me to my first class and teaching me the ropes. If I’ve ever swept you with a lasso sweep or caught you with a “Gotcha Bitch”, you have him to thank. Thank you @jasontakemura for teaching me my north/south choke and teaching me leglocks. I am forever in your debt. Thank you @aubreykoenig for being the example of what a black belt should be. I will try my best to follow your example of making sure that everyone who steps on the mats feels safe and welcomed. Thank you to all of my training partners and friends who have pushed me to be the best I could be. There are too many to list but you know who you are. I appreciate you all. Thank you @oz1202 for being the best coaching partner I could ever ask for. I would not be half the person on and off the mats without you. Thank you to all of my KVGC friends. I am so grateful for all of you. You truly make jiujitsu fun for me and I appreciate you allowing me to be a part of your jiujitsu journey.

I meant it when I said that if you have ever asked me a question, taken one of my classes, gave me the opportunity the help you get ready for a competition or allowed me to corner you, this black belt is as much yours as it is mine. Thank you everyone so much for allowing me to be a part of your jiujitsu journey. I appreciate you all.

2025 for jiujitsu has been an amazing year. So cool to see so many people compete, level up and just improve overall. I’m so grateful that you folks allow me to be a part of your journey. It’s also been awesome seeing the nogi program grow @manojiujitsu and I look forward to seeing more of you folks at class😈😈😈
