“Warmth for Ukraine” campaign - impact on the ground 💙💛

From January-May 2026, people across Australia came together in so many different ways - running, attending film screenings, supporting cultural events, visiting exhibitions, fundraising in their communities, and simply choosing to care.

That support travelled all the way to Ukraine 🇺🇦

With your help, we were able to support:
🏫 10 schools
👥 more than 5,000 children
🐶 shelter caring for 50 animals
📍across 6 regions of Ukraine

In total, AUD $113.4K was delivered through @futureukraine_australia "Warmth for Ukraine" campaign (combining donations received via our PayPal page, Stripe and direct bank transfers) helping provide generators, power stations, a solar battery and a heater to places where reliable energy can make an enormous difference.

To every person who donated, organised, attended, shared, volunteered or stood behind this campaign - thank you.

What began as a call for warmth as russia ruthlessly attacked Ukraine’s energy grid, became something much bigger: energy, resilience and solidarity reaching Ukraine from across Australia 🇦🇺

That solidarity is ongoing. The campaign is still open, and with another winter approaching, russia's attacks on civilian infrastructure are only set to intensify. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation here: https://futureukraine.org.au/fundraisers/warmth-for-ukraine/ or via direct bank deposit.

Turning community support into real help on the frontline 🇺🇦

Defend Ukraine Appeal is grateful to @uki.movie.club for turning Ukrainian cinema into tangible support for Ukraine’s defenders.

Through the charity screenings of “Okean Elzy. Stormwatch” and “Mavka: The True Myth”, Uki Movie Club raised and donated $4,001 AUD to Defend Ukraine Appeal.

These funds helped provide the 129th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade with:

⚡ 2 generators
🔋 2 portable power stations

This equipment will help keep essential devices powered and operations running where reliable electricity cannot be taken for granted.

A huge thank you to the Uki Movie Club team, everyone who attended the screenings, donated and supported these events. Every ticket, every donation and every act of solidarity can become practical assistance on the frontline.

And another big thank you to @filmua for providing *Mavka: The True Myth* and to @sweet.tv for providing *Okean Elzy: Stormwatch* movies for the charity screenings.

Culture brings us together. Community turns that support into action💙💛

🐾 From a screening in the @nswparliament to warmth for animals in Ukraine. 🇺🇦

Earlier this year, @uc.nsw and @ozeukes were proud to support a special screening of “Animals in War”, hosted by @stevekampermp , MP at the Parliament of NSW - bringing together Australian, Ukrainian and international representatives to remember the animals who have suffered alongside people during war.

With the support of our wonderful community, and thanks especially to @tatacookies.au , the event raised funds for an EcoFlow power station for @club.hvostiki (Club Hvostyky), a volunteer animal rescue project in Odesa dedicated to saving stray and abandoned animals, caring for them through a network of volunteers and foster homes, and helping them find loving families. ❤️🐶🐱

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended the screening, contributed, volunteered and helped us turn a moment of solidarity into practical support for animals in Ukraine.

A special thank you to:
🇦🇺 The Parliament of NSW
🇺🇦 Ukrainian Council of NSW (UCNSW)
🇺🇦 Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO)
🇦🇺 The Speaker of the NSW Parliament
Diplomatic representatives from the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, and Ukraine
🍪 Tata Cookies
🎬 Everyone who supported the “Animals in War” screening and the “Warmth for Ukraine” campaign.

And thank you to all those who continue to stand with Ukraine - and with the animals who depend on us.

Together, we can bring warmth, even in the darkest of times. 💙💛🐾

Future Ukraine hands over evacuation vehicle to the State Emergency Services (SES) of Odesa🇺🇦

Behind every vehicle we deliver, there is a moment when someone’s life depends on getting help fast enough.

In Odesa, these evacuation vehicles are doing exactly that - taking rescuers to the sites of attacks and helping evacuate people from danger.

Just one day before this video was filmed, one of the vehicles that was delivered by Future Ukraine helped save eight SES rescuers following a double-tap strike and shelling.

This is what your support becomes in Ukraine: real action, real rescue, real lives saved.

To every donor across Australia who stands with Ukraine and supports Future Ukraine - thank you. Your generosity is reaching people in the moments they need it most.

Last night, we gathered at Federation Square to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukrainian independence 🇺🇦

The rally brought together members of the Ukrainian-Australian community, friends and supporters, community leaders and government representatives.

It was a meaningful opportunity to recognise the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people, reflect on the sacrifices made in defence of freedom and democracy, and reaffirm Australia’s ongoing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, freedom and democratic future.

🇺🇦🇦🇺🫂

It has been an immense honour to be among the esteemed speakers and guests at today’s Ukraine’s Independence Day rally and to share my thoughts with the Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine in Melbourne.

“Living through war has also changed the meaning of peace.

It can be as simple as living without checking for missile alerts; having reliable electricity, heating, and internet.
These are simple things. War reminds us how precious they are.

Here in Australia, we are fortunate to live in peace and to be surrounded by a strong Ukrainian community and its many friends and supporters across all sectors of politics, society, and the economy. Together, they have worked tirelessly to ensure that Ukraine is heard and seen.

Australia has welcomed thousands of Ukrainians forced to flee the war. I am personally deeply grateful to the Australian government and to Australian society for giving Ukrainians support and the chance to rebuild their lives.

The fact that we are standing here together in Melbourne today speaks volumes about global solidarity with Ukraine. And I am very thankful to everyone who has joined us today and carries Ukraine in their hearts.”

🇺🇦𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆!🇺🇦

Bondi Beach was alive in a sea of blue and yellow as the Ukrainian community came together for a parade in honour of 35 years of Ukrainian independence!

Against one of Australia’s most iconic backgrounds, we proudly danced, sang and waved the Ukrainian flag — a powerful symbol of freedom, resilience and the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.

For 35 years, Ukraine has shown the world that freedom is not simply given — it is cherished, defended, and fought for. Through every challenge, the Ukrainian spirit remains unbreakable, and the desire for freedom burns stronger than ever.

I could just be enjoying my life in Australia. 🇦🇺
But being here doesn’t erase where I come from. 🇺🇦

So this is just a friendly reminder to the world: the terrorist country still exists. The war is still happening. And for Ukrainians living abroad, these two realities exist at the same time.

We live. We work. We laugh. We make plans.
And we still carry Ukraine with us.

Always 🇺🇦
