producing “sweater” || a closer look 🔎 my favorite song from my band’s new EP titled “at your door” 🚪 links in my bio #altrnb #producerbreakdown #behindthebeat i’ve always found mundanity to carry the exact gravity i look for when i write. i just lost this need for plenty of poetic twists and turns when i want listeners to feel things. i suppose deliberation is important for all things creative 🐌 special thanks to @lumi_demo1 for the helping me write this, check his music out too! find your tones before recording, but beef up your drum production with samples! claps, triggers, risers, stutters, flickers, snaps, lazers, gorillas, katipunan, brennan, etc. ♾️ + ♾️ over time, i learned that writing (or recording whatever instrument) in pursuit of aesthetic more than function never came out to be so good for my tracks. intentionality always grounded me, and everything born out of staying rooted just felt so much more meaningful. especially now that my music is centered on all things vulnerability and love, honesty has much more value than extravagance. even as a band, we’re obsessed with side-chaining. i use a multi-band compressor (fabfilter mb) to sidechain the bass to the kick AND the snare. then, i add a gate before the snare sidechain so that the bass pumps with the backbeats and stronger hits, but not the ghost notes 👻 ✨✨✨✨ creative ambiences are a staple but ensure that it’s appropriate for the song. don’t just add the first thing you see when you search “SFX.” always zoom in and see how it works with the track. there were no jungle ambiences in the song because the song did not take place in the jungle gets ba sweater4ever ♾️ link in my bio 4 streaming links, ily goodbye

Catch @ozo.online next Friday, October 23, at 🌹 SON OF FREUDIAN: Daniel Caesar Cover Night 🌹 OZO is a MNL-based band pushing the boundaries of alternative R&B and soul. The multi-disciplinary symphony of Oz Kabuhat, Brennan Ng, Jaime Morados, Pat Pagsuyuin, Luis Peczon, and Daboy Berces renders a suave and cozy repertoire of tunes that warm the heart and soul. Throughout the years, OZO has explored themes of existence and the complexities of the human experience. With their latest EP, At Your Door, they took a step back from these perplexing soundscapes and returned to their roots, exploring love and intimacy in the mundanity of life. At Your Door highlights all that is integral to the soul—our love, our fears, our pains, our joys, and our home. The title track, At Your Door, sits in a place between love and loss; here, “Do you think I don’t think about you?” becomes less an accusation and more of a plea to recognize that grief goes both ways. 📅 OCTOBER 23, 2026 (FRIDAY) ⏰ 7PM onwards 📍 Soda Monkey Bar featuring: 🎵 OZO 🎵 LUMI 🎵 Ben Figueroa 🎵 everygoodboydoesfine 🎵 gabby parafina 🎫 ONLINE TICKETS: Php 400 (w/ 1 free drink) Get your tickets now through the QR code or the link in our bio.

A little late, because the universe is telling me to slow down… my appendix decided it was time to be removed. So, after a little surgery and recovery I guess this is better late than never - some highlights from @sonikphilippines in Manila back in September representing TMT and @recordstoredayaustralia! As always, incredible people, hospitality, music and food! Hope to be launching RSD PH soon too!
