Portimão ✅

A strong showing at the finale of the 2026 Ligier European Series season, bringing home a P2 finish. 🥈

The weekend started with some uncertainty after we discovered a gearbox issue in FP1, without enough time to replace the affected parts before qualifying. Nevertheless, we stayed positive and pushed on.

Qualifying was a little messy on my side, but on my final push lap I was 0.4s up on my previous best when I was called into the pits. Unfortunately, this cost us what was looking like a potential P4, leaving me P10 on the grid.

Race 1 saw me take the start from P10, determined to fight my way through the field. After getting caught up in a group of LMP4s, I managed to break free and start chasing down the leaders.

We lost a lot of valuable time by staying out during a safety car during the pit window, which may have ultimately cost us the race win. Some incorrectly displayed SC boards after the restart didn’t help either! Despite this, Nick put together a strong stint, steadily closing the gap to the front and bringing the car home in P2 🥈

Race 2 saw Nick start from P6 and hand the car over in P5. After a hard-fought battle for fifth, I eventually brought the car home in P6. The higher temperatures made things more challenging, as our setup wasn’t quite as optimised for those conditions.

Really happy to finish the season with another podium, but as always, I’m hungry for more.

A huge thank you to everyone at @trajectus_motorsport for their hard work and dedication throughout the weekend, and to Nick for another great effort.

Silverstone wrapped 🇬🇧

A really interesting weekend with a mix of different challenges.

We started the weekend knowing that there was a possibility we were in for a challenging weekend since we had not done any testing here as a team, and so the car setup was not going to be optimal. However, a decision was made on the setup direction to try something new, which worked well!

We had a quick car for qualifying, but unfortunately I did not maximise it. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the penultimate round saw me have my first full qualifying session of the season. I had never previously ran on new tyres for a full qualifying run, and so I missed a small margin in some corners, and I was alone on track so I had no references. Now I know, and this won’t happen for the next qualifying session I do.

Race 1 saw me start, but unfortunately we made an error with the tyre pressures, which meant they were sky high, and the car was almost undrivable. Lots of oversteer in high speed corners, and understeer in low speed corners!

Fortunately we put everything together for Race 2 and crossed the line in P3🥉

After celebrating the podium we were informed that we had been penalised for not pitting in the pit stop window, because it had moved – which was the subject of lots of confusion as this information was not broadcast properly.

Nevertheless, it was great to have a podium at home, even if the result didn’t stick in the end.

Huge thanks to everybody on the team @trajectus_motorsport , let’s keep pushing for more 💪

Onto the finale at Portimao!

PODIUM AT HOME!!! 🇬🇧

Our first podium in the Ligier European Series was long overdue for myself, Nick and the whole team on car #20.

While the official classification doesn’t show us on the podium, we crossed the line there on merit. A last-minute change to the pit stop window by race control, which wasn’t properly communicated to the teams, resulted in a post-race penalty and a very confused final classification.

A huge well done to everyone at @trajectus_motorsport for our first double podium of the season in the prototype category 💪

A lot to be proud of from our home round. Taking this energy into Portimão 🇵🇹

Dusted off my @p1sim.fr Arnage and took it to the shop @matrixcayman today. Got an NRG quick release to use with the Moza wheelbases at work. Going to wrap it and spend time trying to get OpenXR Mirror to work so I can record VR races. There is so much cool sim racing stuff happening between now and the end of the year.

Super excited to get back behind the wheel of the #20 Ligier JS P4 with Trajectus Motorsport and race at home in the UK.

We’ve got plenty of momentum heading into the weekend, let’s see what we can do around one of the most famous circuits in the world.

Another strong step forward at Spa 🇧🇪

FP1: P6
FP2: P5
Q1 (Nick): P4
Q2 (Gabriel): P3 - all times deleted for causing a red flag
Race 1: P5
Race 2: P7

A weekend that showed huge potential. Every time we hit the track, we extracted as much lap time from the car as possible, despite several challenges outside our control.

Unfortunately, the car sustained damage during a wet Q2 and couldn’t be fully restored in time for Race 1. This was a real shame because I was super quick in the rain, and on for what could have been pole position.

The team did an incredible job getting us back on track, but the temporary repairs naturally left our performance slightly compromised.

For Race 2, the car was back in top shape and I started from the rear of the grid. With the race beginning behind the safety car in foggy conditions, I had only around 10 minutes of green-flag running during my stint instead of the expected 30 minutes, but still climbed to P7.

After the driver change, Nick was blocked at the pit exit by another car, costing us 14 seconds. That dropped us to P10 and ended any realistic chance of fighting for the podium. We eventually recovered to finish P7, closing a 10+ second gap to the car in front, missing out on P6 by less than 0.5s at the line.

It’s always very frustrating to have strong pace, and not much to show for it. Nevertheless, a strong showing this weekend with @trajectus_motorsport . Big thanks to everyone on the team for their support on and off track this weekend.

Next up: Silverstone in a couple of weeks! My first race in the UK since 2022 🇬🇧
