He had no idea what was coming for him. 👀😲
Title: Shi (2015)
Genre: Horror / Mystery / Thriller / Short
Story:
An ordinary day suddenly turns into a nightmare when a man receives some terrible news. What begins as a normal moment quickly changes his entire life, leaving him shocked and desperate to understand what is happening.
As the situation becomes more disturbing, strange events begin to unfold around him. Every moment brings a new reason to fear that things are about to get even worse.
The man soon realizes that the bad news was only the beginning. Something terrifying is coming, and he has little time to understand what is happening before his ordinary day becomes a fight for survival.
Shi (2015) stars Justin Berti as The Man, Atsuya Kodama as Sam, Tensei Sugahara as The Creature, and Nigel van der Grijspaarde as Mr. Sutherland. It was written and directed by Pablo Absento.

Director @pablo_absento is a foreigner who has spent years living and working in Tokyo, and she filters classic Japanese supernatural dread thru a western storytelling lens, right down to a creature that pointedly does not look like the long-haired onryo you are bracing for. The setup is brutally simple: a man gets fired over the phone on a forest bridge, looks down, and sees a robed figure dragging away a corpse that happens to be his own. The short got passed around by some heavy names, Guillermo del Toro retweeted it and Eli Roth shared it to his own audience, which is not nothing for a nine minute indie. My only real gripe is that it ends right as it has its hooks in you, which is also the best argument for the feature length version Absento’s developing now. If she can hold that dread for 90min, it’ll be something else
