Ο Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ γεννήθηκε σαν σήμερα στις 25 Οκτωβρίου του 1881.

HAPPY 145th BIRTHDAY PABLO PICASSO
BORN 25TH OCTOBER 1881

“I draw, like other people bite their nails, ” said Pablo Picasso, and that must be the invitation to his historic Picasso and paper exhibition at Royal Academy in London years ago.

Picasso's legendary capacity for invention is never clearer than in his works using paper.Picasso rewrote the rules of painting, but he also tore up the rulebook for paper. He seized the potential of paper throughout his career .For Picasso art was a form of diary, a magical mediator perhaps between his own world and all of us outsiders.

Limitless possibilities

Paper in Picasso’s hands, became a tool to explore his ideas and he exploited its many realms to unravel a material with limitless possibilities. I saw some of his paper works at the Art Institute Chicago and scholars said he experimented with everything from newsprint and napkins to decorative wallpaper. He spent decades investigating printmaking techniques, sourcing rare and antique paper from as far as Japan – and drew on every last scrap.

Collages sculptures and drawings

Recently at the Royal Academy in London, art lovers got a glimpse of his tour de force in a show entitled Picasso and Paper in which there were 300 drawings including sculptural forms that consisted of a sliver of paper even as thin as tissue paper. From effortlessly expressive drawings, to towering sculptures to the colossal collage, Femmes à leur toilette, Picasso’s work with paper spanned his entire lifetime and showcased his constant drive to invent and innovate endlessly.

Picasso’s prolonged engagement with paper is organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in collaboration with the Musée national Picasso-Paris.The stories of Picasso paying his brasserie bills with a casual sketch on the menu are all true.

Picasso’s protean spirit

As a critic I was given just a few images to write from so I spent many days searching for what the greatest critics and scholars in the world wrote. The Royal Academy states that the exhibition offered new insights into Picasso’s creative spirit and working methods.Today he stands as the founder of a new vocabulary .

72 perfect hours back in my spiritual home of Chicago.
Travelling with my new @sonyalpha so that I could test it out in the darkest of alleyways and the brightest of beach walks.
Meeting new people and retracing steps from memories of the time I spend studying at @saicpics

#guernica @pablopicasso_collection @_lartechemipiace_ #arte
