Meet Carlos Alfredo González Vargas, CEO of PACCHAR

He traveled all the way from Ecuador to Mongolia for @cop17mongolia, and he’s bringing a simple but powerful idea with him: turn waste into healthy soil.

Through biochar, Pacchar (@pacchar.ec) transforms residual biomass into a soil amendment that boosts crop productivity, cuts costs, and gives smallholder farmers a new income stream through carbon credits.

La sostenibilidad también se premia🏆
Y en este evento lo viví de primera mano.

Felicito con el corazón a mis amigos de @pacchar.ec , reconocidos por su estrategia de agricultura regenerativa a través del biochar, un enfoque que demuestra que producir cuidando el suelo, la biodiversidad y a las comunidades es posible… y necesario.

También mi admiración y cariño gigante para @fernando_caceres_rodriguez que también recibió varios premios por su liderazgo en sostenibilidad y ha sido mi primer mentor, desde casi 20 años atrás!

Este evento me recordó algo clave:
las empresas que integran prácticas sostenibles, las miden con claridad y las comunican con coherencia, destacan.

No solo por el impacto que generan, sino porque el mercado y la sociedad reconocen ese esfuerzo.

🥬✅La agricultura sostenible es indispensable para preservar recursos naturales, reducir el uso de agroquímicos, mantener la biodiversidad y garantizar alimentos saludables, beneficiando tanto al medio ambiente como a las comunidades.🌎

✅ EL HUAYABAMBA, UN VALLE DE CACAOTEROS EMPRENDEDORES: Impulsan el potencial de las comunidades de la Amazonía peruana, complementando agricultura y naturaleza para mejorar la vida de los cacaoteros y preservar el medioambiente, fomentando el desarrollo sostenible y protegiendo los bosques primarios.

✅ SEMILLANDO FUTURO: Solo el 3.2% de Perú son bosques secos, cuya conservación es prioridad internacional. En América del Sur, más del 60% de estos bosques se ha perdido o degradado. En Perú, la deforestación y fragmentación de bosques por la expansión agrícola es el principal problema. Participan en la creación de corredores para incrementar la conectividad entre fragmentos de bosque. En Lambayeque, se han establecido zonas prioritarias para conservación, y Arena Verde articula 35% de áreas agrícolas a conservación, cumpliendo el ODS 15.

✅ PACCHAR gestiona el carbono de biomasas residuales mediante pirólisis y compostaje, usando residuos lignocelulósicos y guanos responsables para producir biochar y compost. Estos se reincorporan a suelos agrícolas, restaurando su productividad, reduciendo agroquímicos y mejorando servicios ambientales. Promueven una economía circular que beneficia a agricultores, consumidores y al medio ambiente.
