The sea in layers

Foam, swell, spray — and a surfer somewhere in between.

#winterwaves #mediterraneansurf #surfphotography #surflife #framethewave A surfer rides across a dark blue-green Mediterranean wave during a winter session, surrounded by whitewater and windblown spray glowing in warm golden light. The sequence captures the changing shape of the wave and the surfer’s movement across its face, contrasting the cold, textured water with the softly illuminated spray.

One frame. Two completely different relationships with the same wave.

The session didn’t end with the light.

The ocean was not finished yet.

evening surf, blue hour, low light, ocean photography, evening session

#framethewave #surfphotography #bluehour #oceanmood #surf A series of surf photographs captured during a late evening session after sunset. Under deep blue light, a lone surfer paddles through choppy Mediterranean waves, waits beyond the breaking surf, and rides small, wind-textured waves in fading daylight. The sequence also includes dramatic close-ups of a surfboard thrown into the air by the force of a wipeout and a final image of an empty wave rolling through the darkening sea. The low-light conditions, cool tones, and rough water create a quiet, atmospheric portrait of perseverance at the end of the day.

The wave writes in contrasts.

contrast • monochrome • geometry • light and shadow • breaking wave

#FrameTheWave #SurfPhotography #BlackAndWhitePhotography #OceanArt #wavephotography Black-and-white photograph of a surfer riding along the face of a breaking wave. The composition is split between a dark wall of water and bright white foam, creating a striking contrast and geometric balance. The surfer appears small within the scene, emphasizing the scale, shape, and abstract beauty of the ocean.
