Today’s special is our all-time favorite South Indian Style Mango Pickle (Avakaya)🥭❤️

When summer arrives, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? For me, it’s definitely mango season😍🥭. But more than the fruit itself, it’s the beautiful memories attached to it that make it so special.

Ever since childhood, summer holidays meant all of us cousins gathering at our grandma’s house. One of my favorite traditions was watching the entire family come together to make Avakaya pickle. The kitchen would be full of laughter, conversations, and teamwork as our parents took care of the pickle-making while we spent our days playing games, singing songs, watching TV, and eagerly waiting for the process to be over😅❤️

And the best part? The moment when Grandma would mix hot steamed rice with the leftover pickle masala from the bowl and feed it to us with her own hands🥹❤️. To this day, I can confidently say that was one of the most delicious bites I’ve ever had.

This recipe isn’t just a pickle recipe for me.. it’s a jar full of childhood memories, family traditions, and summer nostalgia🥭✨

I wanted to share this special recipe with all of you, and I truly hope you give it a try. If you do, please let me know how it turned out in the comments. I’d love to hear your stories and favorite mango pickle memories too❤️🥭
