Yellow-rumped Warbler… 0.5 oz of pure attitude.

#wildlifephotography #benezette #nikonz8 A small songbird with brown plumage, blue-gray wings, and a pale, lightly streaked chest perches on a thin branch among tangled autumn vegetation. Soft golden sunlight illuminates the bird against a dark green, blurred woodland background. Yellowing leaves and delicate branches frame the scene.

You think you’re up for the LTAC Night Fighter Challenge?
In the Spirit of the Pennsylvania Light Fighter Challenge, on March 12 Lodestone is holding this unique event that will push your abilities to operate at night. This is our 4th year running the Night Fighter Challenge. It will require the use of flashlights, lasers and night vision as you are tested in the environment of darkness.
The Night Fighter Challenge starts with a timed ruck along an approximately 3-mile trail using Night Vision. The path will be a trail over rugged terrain with elevation changes.
At the completion of the hike, you will go through an approximately 1 ½ mile-long course with different stages. Some stages will include Shooting with white light, Shooting with NODs and lasers, and passive. There will be individual CQB, Tac-Med, and other stages, all being run in the dark. The culminating stage will be Escape and Evasion combined with land navigation. There will be prizes for the top 10 competitors. This is the chance to challenge yourself at night.
Due to the nature of this event and the logistics to run it, there is limited seats to compete. For more information and to register, go to the Lodestone website. #lodestone #principlebasedtraining #nightfighter #nods #lodestonetac

Bald Eagles

America’s Symbol

Not my best picture ever, because of near 500 yards separating us, but one of my favorites. I was heading to down before Autumn’s event at Wildwood Park and noticed this pair of Bald Eagles atop of a high voltage powerline by my house. I had to pull over and take some pictures of them. Maybe someday I will get a close up, but for now:

If you've never bled through Carhartt pants while wearing boots with no soles left, I don't even want to hear your advice on upland hunting

Black Throated Green Warbler

At roughly a 7.5” wingspan and standing at 4.5” tall, the Black Throated Green Warbler is a small active songbird, which breeds locally in Pennsylvania, known for its bright yellow face and persistent buzzy song that sounds like “trees, trees, I love trees!”.

I photographed this particular Black Throated Green Warbler during Autumn’s one event at Wildwood Park.

Sasquatch?! No, not him. But it’s a reminder that, while in the woods, you’re never alone.
